Sometimes I wonder who the villain is in my story...

Is there one?
Is it so easy to tell?
Could it be me?

You know those stories that are from the villains perspective? They think they're doing the right thing and that they're helping people out, but all they do is hurt everyone around them. They hurt themselves too.

They're sad and hurt and don't know what to do.

You were rooting for them too, you understand them, their motivations. And yet they still end up all alone because of what they've done.

You want to keep they safe from the world, safe from the things that hurt them. Keep them safe from themselves.

You know they mean no harm.
They're doing the best they can.

Yet they're still the villain to other people.
The worst thing is it's understandable.

They've hurt people.
Even if they were sad and hurt.
You know it doesn't make it okay.

I want to know if that's what I am?
How can I tell that that's not me?
