Chapter 13 Adrien tries the third form (2)

The next day Adrien woke up in his cat form curled into a bundle on top of Marinette. He looked at the time and his eyes widened... Marinette needed to get up now if she wanted to get to school without being late.

Tikki, for once, was sleeping too.

Adrien nuzzled the tiny kwami waking her up before swatting Marinette and headbutting her to wake her up.

"Come on Marinette, wakeup!" Said the tiny kwami "You'll be late for school if you don't get up now."

"5 more minutes..." a sleepy Marinette protested.

"No, you need to get up now!" Tikki insisted as Adrien got down and sat by the trapdoor making it squeek before heading to the toilet to relieve himself. "Oh look - she whispered "Adrien is here,"

"No! Where?" Marinette sat bolt upright then.

Tikki laughed "I was kidding Marinette! But seriously, you need to get up."

"Yes Tikki" grumbled Marinette, rushing around getting ready for school. Adrien followed the girl to school, and into the classroom, sitting on his seat.

"Aww, how cute!" Sighed all the girls as they went past, scritching his head. Adrien tolerated it as he knew darn well a cat was not allowed in class.

"Have any of you seen or heard from Adrien?" Nino asked the girls behind him as he sat down in his seat, totally missing the cat sitting upright beside him watching everything with an unusually attentive and clever look.

"No, I haven't" answered Marinette.

"Why is there a problem?" Asked Alya.

"It's probably nothing, but my man hasn't replied to me since yesterday morning" worried Nino "and he normally answers me straight away."

"Maybe he has a flat battery or something?" Alya said as Mrs Bustier entered the classroom with a concerned look on her face.

"Attention class!" Mrs Bustier called scanning the classroom, not noticing the green-eyed cat at all "I have a disturbing announcement to make, so please be quiet!"

The class fell silent.

Taking a deep breath to centre herself she continued "This morning the principal received a disturbing phone call regarding Adrien Agreste."

"What happened Miss?" Marinette said without thinking.

"Yeah, Miss, what happened?" The rest of the class agreed noisily.

"Quiet down and I will tell you." Mrs Bustier said and she waited for silence.

Alya wanted, known for her interviewing skills, desperately to get to the bottom of this mysterious statement remained quiet. Her effort was rewarded quickly as everyone else realised the same thing.

"Mr Agreste has rung the school to advise that Adrien has been missing since yesterday evening, that he's aware of. He is offering a reward for any information to help find his son. A bigger one if his son is found."

The class was an uproar. Nino went forward and told Mrs Bustier about him actually being missing from the morning and that information was forwarded to the police handling the investigation.

Eventually the class settled down and lessons got underway. Mrs Bustier and Nino, both not noticing the cat in Adrien's seat until about halfway through the day, when Adrien suddenly felt fatigued and went to lay down on his chair.

Nino seeing something move out of the corner of his eye looked over, saw the black cat, jumped up, freaked out yelling, pointing at the hapless cat "WOAH! How long has that been there?" Attracting the attention of Mrs Bustier who finally noticed the cat too.
