Chapter 31 Miraculous Switch (5)

Adrien's view

I awoke to find that my roster had changed again from modeling to working in the Dupain-Cheng's bakery until 1 pm. Marinette's party was at 2 pm so I went home and got ready for that. Luckily my father had allowed me this time with Marinette and our friends weeks ago.

I was one of the first to the party in the park and I watched as Marinette received gifts from everyone except Luka, Nino, Alya and I. Luka and Julieka were there before me so I assumed that he had already given her his gift as Julieka was just giving her gift to Marinette. I gave Marinette a hug and greeting kisses after that.

Alya, when she arrived, was in storytelling mode telling us about the only time there was a problem with the soulmate system. This was when a strange event had occurred like our akumas today. It sorted itself out eventually though.

We had a wonderful time, we played some kids games too but despite this it was still fun.

We had a group photo taken with the cake before it was cut up and distributed.

At the end of our time a akuma attacked so I had to run off and change. By the time the akuma was defeated the party was over and I had to go back home. When I returned home, I was hauled before my Father.

"What is Miss Dupain-Cheng doing in the photoshoots you were supposed to do?" My Father asked with a scowl on his face.

"I am sorry Father, but I had no shoots on my schedule. In fact, my schedule has been rather odd for days." I say.

"Odd, how?" my Father demanded.

"Like being told to cook Dinner two nights ago" I said.

"So that's what that disaster was" commented my Father "Go on."

"Well it seems what I usually do, my friend Marinette has been doing and what she normally does I have been doing."

"I see. Well luckily Miss Dupain-Cheng makes a good model. I would like you to model with her in future. Please see if she will be ok with that. Also stick to your usual routine, not this made up junk. Ok?"

"Yes Sir" I say. "May I go to Marinette's to sort this out?"

"You may spend a half hour sorting this out."

I call Marinette and ask if its ok to come over and talk with her about this. I could have sworn I heard a squeal, no I must have been dreaming.

Marinette's view.

I woke up and found that I had a photoshoot from 9 till 1 pm. So I headed out. Luckily the photographer had managed to bring more of the female line for me to wear. I had started getting the hang of this modelling gig. I still prefered designing though.

I had a break for a little while until the party in the park. Mum and Dad had packed several picnic baskets full of things necessary for it. I was a bit embarrassed that they had one of the games as pass the parcel. But the gifts in it were definitely for young adults.

We took the things across to the park, found a table where we could all sit and eat and set up. Luka and Julieka were early and helped us set up.

Before everyone else came, and after setting up, Luka gave me his gift and kissed me. I felt a bit uncomfortable with my parents watching but I think we are going out? I wasn't sure, yes we had been on a date, and I knew that I was Luka's second chance and he wanted me as a total chance. I didn't know what to think though, maybe I did have a first chance, but I didn't know.

People started arriving then. Adrien was the first to arrive after Luka and Julieka. He greeted me with a hug and kiss but for some reason it felt like he was my boyfriend, not Luka. I glanced at Luka and saw that he was ok with me hugging my friends. I was thankful for that. I really didn't want a jealous maybe boyfriend on top of everything else.
