Chapter 27 Miraculous Switch (1)

Adrien 's view

I woke up thinking "It's Marinette's and Ladybugs birthday today. I wonder who their soul-mate will be. Marinette is such a awesome girl, our everyday Ladybug.

Ladybug...She tops the list in awesome. I wonder if Ladybug will be my soul-mate? It's her birthday today too. I hope that she loves her gift I got her.

Hmm let's look at what Father has scheduled me for today... Usually its fencing, followed by a piano lesson followed by homework."

I am devastated. My soul-mate is unchanged. Tears form at this. I would not admit it but I really was hoping that either Marinette or Ladybug was my soul-mate. This said that I was still soul-mateless.

But what does it mean second chance possible? This is new.

No change there...my eyes widened - my schedule was relatively free. There had to be some kind of mistake... My usual Thursday was fencing, piano and homework. My schedule now said.

3 to 4 hang with friends. Stalking.

What does "stalking" mean? I wonder. Hang with friends l can do. I will figure out stalking later.

4 to 5 homework

5 to 6 Cook and have dinner

That's different, Father is making me cook dinner. I wonder what the change is there. What is his goal? Oh well, if it's in my schedule I have to do it.

6 to 9 sewing and designing.

WHAT?! I TOLD FATHER! I didn't want anything to do with that side of his business. Oh well - it's on it so I must do it.

9 to bed Secret Patrol.

Well, at least that's unchanged, thank God!

"Hey kid! What's with all the changes to your roster?"

"I don't know Plagg, I don't know." I say sadly.

"What's with the long face kid?" Asked Plagg, knowing exactly why this had happened, as it happened to his last holder the first pair under the new system.

Plagg, however, was unable to tell Adrien this as he needed to figure the stuff up himself. Miraculous holders schedules swapped until they figure out that they were meant to be together. Then and only then did the schedules become their own and the names swap. If they had second chance partners they could very well lose their soul-mate to them. Depending upon the nature of the allocated second chance.

"I was hoping that my soul-mate was either Marinette or Ladybug. It seems that neither are." I sigh.

I sulked for a minute before deciding that no matter what, I was going to be happy for both girls. I would celebrate with them to the best of my ability.
I hope that they would like their gift regardless. For Marinette I had bought a bracelet that said best friends and Ladybug a Mizpah necklace designed in a yin and yang style, especially made for me so that I could give them this.

I smiled determinedly, grabbed Marinette's present and left ready for my school day.

Kagami's view

It's Marinette's birthday today. I wonder if there's any change to my schedule. Hopefully I will get some time to give her my gift.

Huh? That's new. Marinette must be his soul mate then, but I get a chance. I daydream here while I get into trouble for not being ready for school. I grab Marinette's present as I might see her before fencing practice as she has a tendency to watch Adrien and I fence.

I was a little sad that I was not allocated a soul-mate. My family were well known to make political matches if a soul-mate did not exist. As Adrien was only a second chance soul-mate, it was likely that I would end up with a political marriage. I didn't want this so I determined Marinette or not I was going after Adrien.

I woke up super early. Ever since I had met Marinette I had been hoping that she was my soul-mate, but I also knew that I would have to wait until she turned 16, meaning a 2 year wait. I had never met such a beautiful caring girl, so I was happy to wait. I would be lying if I thought it possible that I could love anyone else. So I looked at my schedule really hoping that I would receive good news.

"Fuck" I swore. I was pretty sure I knew who her first chance was. I was not impressed. "At least I still have a chance though" I murmured. I had requested my new album to be delayed in its release so that I could give Marinette the only copy out first. She was my muse for my songs.

The new album songs were written to her, for her. I hoped that the words would reach her heart. I knew that she loved our music style as she had said so. All her favourite bands were my favourite too.

I decided not to go to school that day as I suddenly felt sick and my schedule changed as it picked up my sickness. I wasn't her true soul-mate and I wouldn't be able to see her until her 16th birthday party this weekend.

"Hey Luka" my sister chirped "Any change to your schedule?"

"Yeah" I say "I am sick, I am staying home today."

"Is Marinette not your soul-mate then?"

"Sorta"

"What do you mean sorta?" Julieka queried.

So I showed her.

"Oh Luka" she said sympathetically "Well, at least you have a chance. I know it's not what you wanted but it is better than nothing."

"I guess" I say sadly.

"I will sus out who your competitor is if you like?"

I brighten at this "Thanks Julieka, you're the best sister a person could have!"

"Yeah, yeah, don't you forget it" she smiles teasing me as she left for school.

Marinette's view

I wake up early, excited for the day.

"Today is the day I find out who my soul-mate is!" I say to Tikki excitedly.

"Marinette, you may not you know" Tikki warned me.

I should have listened. I was not prepared for the massive disappointment I faced.

Since when have I done fencing? Oh well, it means that maybe I can face Adrien instead of stalk him... hang on, I am not his soul-mate. I start crying as that realisation hits me. I continue reading.

5 to 6 homework
6 to 630 dinner
6 to 7 study
9 to bed Secret Patrol.

"What is with this timetable, Tikki? It's like Adrien's."

"I don't know Marinette, maybe you will get to spend time with him?"

"Maybe" I say frowning. "But why would Mum and Dad do this? Nevermind, I have to do this!" I grab my bag and put on a brave smile and head out the door grabbing a vegetable pasty on the way out.
