"Yeah, thanks," I say nodding my head at the cop as he closes a notepad and heads away from me. A low sigh escapes my lips as I cross my arms over my chest looking to my car that's nothing but a goner. The tow truck hooks it up and the guy waves at me. I slightly nod at him and look down at the ground feeling my mind race.

"Y/N," I hear someone speak behind me. I pick up my head and turn quickly locking eyes with Shelly then Alycia. "I'm sorry about your car dear."

"It's okay Shelly. It was old anyways," I respond shrugging slightly while giving a small smile to the elderly woman.

"Oh I know dear but I know that car was special to you," Shelly said reaching up my hand and gently placing it on my crossed arms. I nod my head up and down slowly.

"It's alright Shelly. I promise," I say as the woman looks back and forth between her eyes. "We should get inside, it's pretty chilly out here, yeah?"

"Oh yes dear!" A small smile tugs on my lips as my arms drop from my chest and I grab a hold of Shelly's hand. As we begin to walk my eyes land on Alycia's. Her eyes were soft, fearful like but I tilt my head for her to follow me. Her head slowly nods and I could tell she was freezing in only her short sleeved, high knee black dress. We all walk back into the apartment building and head down the hall.

"Now Y/N, you didn't tell me about this nice young lady," Shelly said as we made a turn. "She's as sweet as a peach. I swear I seen her before though..."

"She's been over at my place a lot Shell. She's a friend, I work with her," I respond looking to Shelly. Shelly nods slightly before glancing over her shoulder to Alycia.

"Ooh look at that smile and those eyes," Shelly whispers turning back around as we stop in front of her door. I bite my lip and let go of Shelly's arm as I stand against the wall looking to both of them.

"Hey Leesh, you want to go on in. I'll be in, in a sec," I say looking to Alycia with gentle eyes. Alycia gently nods and looks to Shelly giving her a warm smile and giving the elderly woman a "it was nice to meet you" comment. I stand up straight as the girl passes me but quickly pull out my key and hand it to her in passing. She walks to my apartment, that's not far from where we stood leaving both Shelly and I alone.

"So she's a friend or a lover?" My eyes go wide as I pull them off of Alycia and look to Shelly. A delicate chuckle escapes the sweet old lady as she shakes her head. "Oh come on. I notice things Y/N."

"I- We're just friends," I respond but Shelly shakes her head.

"Pft, the way you two look at one another, I don't think so my dear-" Shelly pauses taking a step forward and grabbing a hold of my hands, giving them the most gentle squeeze ever. "Listen to me dear... I know love. I lost my love right in front of me, so I'm going to tell you what I wish someone would have told me."

"Yeah... What's that?"

"Tell her. Tell her how much you love her and show her. And maybe you already have but tell her, honestly. Speak from here-" Shelly pauses letting go of one of my hands and reaching up, pointing at my chest where my heart lays. "You two look at one another with love, passion. Something I haven't seen with two people in far too long. You two... While it may be complicated I know you two can figure it out. True love always finds where it's heart truly belongs too even when there's few bumpy roads in the way."

I stand in silence looking to the elderly woman. Her words ring through my ears and my head as I sink my teeth into my bottom lip. A warm smile spreads to Shelly's lips as she tilts her head to the side. "I'm rooting for you Y/N. I'll always be rooting for you, but know it's okay to fear."

I nod my head up and down slowly, tears gently filling the brim of my eyes. "Oh dear, now now-" Shelly pauses and I feel her hands on my cheeks picking up head and wiping at my tears gently. "I don't want to see no tears until your wedding day."

"Wedding day? Woah there Shelly, I don't know about that," I chuckle shaking my head. She drops her hands from my face chuckling as well.

"Alright my dear, I should get going on it. Wheel of Fortune's on." Shelly winks and I roll my eyes with a smile on my lips. I nod at her and she nods back turning on her heels and walking into her home. I wait a moment before turning too and heading to my own home and walking in.

I walk into my home and shut the door behind me. When I do and turn back around my eyes lock with Alycia's who stands in front of me, feet away. She stands with her arms crossed and her face worried, sad. I tilt my head and give her questioning eyes.

"You- You didn't tell the cops," she whispers looking back and forth between my eyes.

"Didn't tell the cops what?" I ask, my voice low. Alycia sinks her teeth into her bottom lip as I take a step forward.

"That man who was here, your uncle. He set that fire to your car..." I look away from Alycia and drop my head.

"Alycia-"

"Y/N. You two were heavily fighting... Why wouldn't you tell them?"

"Because even if I did, they'd have no way of telling." I pick up my head and back to the girl. "Besides it doesn't matter. I packed all my shit up for a reason. I'm not staying here."

"Where you going to go?"

I shrug my shoulders, shaking my head briefly. "I have no idea. I just needed out, but I'll figure it out." Silence takes over us briefly before she swiftly walks over to me and wraps her arms around me. I hesitate a moment confused but finally cave and wrap my arms back around her, closing my eyes. I hold her close, my brain no my heart telling me to never let go.

"Come live with me," Alycia whispers into my ear suddenly causing my eyes to open.

"Wh-what?" I mumble back before feeling the girl to pull away briefly. We pull apart but my hands linger on her waist as her hands cup my face.

"I know that we were doing good and then I messed up. I kissed Noah but it didn't mean anything to me not like you do," Alycia pauses, her eyes shifting back and forth. "So... come live with me in California. Please?"
