(a/n): A lot of POV changes in this chapter🥰
(Also look at that photo of our sweet boy, ahhh I love him🥺❤️)
Obi-Wan POV:
"Elijah?" I repeated quietly, more to myself than to (y/n). That was a lovely name, and one that I don't believe I've heard before. I felt myself fall into a daze as I studied this Elijah person who stood not too far ahead of us. I was fascinated with how truly stunning he was, and without even attempting it!
To my right, (y/n) was smiling knowingly at me with a look of mischief in her eyes. I snapped out of whatever 'love at first sight' trance I fell into and shook my head at her.
Stars, I mustn't encourage this any further.
"We've indulged in this nonsense long enough, it's time to leave." I kept my eyes glued to the floor as I turned the other way. What kind of Jedi, what kind of mentor would I be for involving myself in such foolishness? I'd be a halfwit to once again subject myself to the troubles of romance.
"Oh no you don't." (y/n) grabbed my wrist and pulled me back to where I originally stood beside her, "You're already here, so we might as well test your flirting skills to see if you've got any game." She suggested, as if it was a typical pastime.
I rolled my eyes at her choice of words, "Oh please, I'm not an adolescent." I'll admit, I took slight offense that she assumed I was an amateur in the art of flirting.
I brought my wrist out of her grip and crossed both of my arms authoritatively, "This is ridiculous, (y/n). You are asking me to completely go against the Code we live by, and I'll have you know, there are many other tasks I could be getting done right now." There weren't, actually. But it seemed like a reasonable excuse.
I hoped my serious words and expression would be enough to get her to agree, but she just snickered at me, "Other tasks? Like what, combing your beard?"
I narrowed my eyes and was about to respond but she began walking forward away from me, "Look, I'll go break the ice for you and maybe you and Elijah can get a rhythm going. But don't even think about moving from that spot." She pointed warningly at me and turned fully forward.
My eyes widened as (y/n) walked away from me, "What—No! Get back here." I whisper-yelled to her, but she didn't acknowledge my words.
I sighed and pinched the bridge of my nose, accepting that I wouldn't be getting out of this so easily. Conversing with these people was the last thing I wished to do. As I subconsciously began processing this situation, I almost laughed aloud; this would happen to me. Anakin and (y/n) have always found ways to make my life far more interesting than it already is. I never imagined though that they would serve me as a 'bachelor' to all of these snobby people.
Well, most of them seemed snobby.
I hesitantly glanced over to where (y/n) was, and my heartbeat quickened when I saw that she and this Elijah person had their gazes planted directly at me. I instantly looked away and pretended as if I was fascinated with the fountain beside me, and stroked my beard to make it seem like I was in deep thought.
Why do I feel so nervous? I'm only embarrassing myself further.
(y/n) POV:
I excitedly walked over to my friend who I didn't think I'd see again so soon. I wondered how his job application went, or if he even got it, for that matter. I don't know how the specifics of politics work so I could've possibly just set him up for failure, but I already know that he would be much a better leader than Elliot was.
