Chapter 18: Great Escape

"Hello?"

Lily was so out of it and by this phone call, she suddenly becomes aware of her surroundings.
She didn't bother looking who it was and just answered the call. It was a slight hope she had after everything she thought was true. As reality hits, she couldn't even think who could be calling her.

It was a great timing when Charles was having the last interview and saw Lily walking thoughtlessly. He tried calling out her name but she didn't respond, which is so unlike her.

After his interview, he immediately calls her.
"Lily! Where are you? Are you okay??" She hears Charles breathing so hard on the other line. He had been running around the paddocks asking other teams for her.

"I uhm.. I don't know where I am Charles.. I was just walking and walking and I almost got hit by a car and I.. I don't know" Lily was starting to break down. She sounded very out of it.
"Tell me what you see or ask someone where you are now" Charles instructed as he was preparing his car to go and get her.
"Excuse me. Whats the name of this street?" He hears her asking strangers but none of them seemed to speak English.
"Try to find a restaurant and go inside so you can seat down"
"Okay.." Charles can hear her walking around then hear a chime. She probably got inside a restaurant by now.
"I'm at Helena's Paradise now." She says and so Charles put it in the gps and tried to drive there as fast as he could.

There was a bar and so Lily felt like she needed to order so she can stay there and wait for Charles.

"So what will you be having tonight?" The bartender approaches her.
"Uhm.. can you get me a brandy or whiskey on the rocks?" It was her first time ordering this but she needed something so bitter to remove atleast the bad taste in her mouth.
"Didn't think you'd order that but here you go" the bartender gives her the drink.
She drank it in one go.
"Whoa slow down there cowboy"
"One more" she asks
"Alright" the bartender surrenders
"One more" as she gulps it down.

"This is your 6th glass. You have to slow down" the bartender is quite worried. Although it may suprise them sometimes how people can handle their drink. He feels like Lily could not take the alcohol at all.

"Fuck!" Charles muttered to himself as he saw Lily drinking at the bar.
"Come.. Let's go back" Charles helps her stand.
"Charles!" She hugs him and she seems quite drunk now.
"Thank you" Charles paid and helped Lily walked towards his car.

"I.. don't want to go back Charles.. please" she suddenly begged him.
"What happened Lily?" He looked at her and he knew.. something happened.. something that could make her not herself.
"I— I just.. I don't want to go back Charles. He'll be there.. I don't want to see him please" she begged.
Charles thought he could take her to his room but no, first thing Lance is going to check is his room. George's? No they had an encounter he's going to go there too. Lando.. yes Lando!

Charle's drove and after they knocked onto Lando's door.
"Whoa.. hey!" Good thing he was already here.
"This is urgent we have to hide Lily" Charles said as he helps her inside.
"Wait. Why my room?" Lando is so confused but continued to help.
"Because He's gonna go to my room first then George's. We have to get her things first then we'll get out of your room" Charles said as Lando's processing everything.

"Okay so what we need is to know where Lance is right" Lando said.
Lily was just sitting on the floor knees near her chest.
"I.. have to do this.." finally she spoke as she began to sober up.
Lando was calling George to check if he's still at the paddocks and he was. "What do you mean mate?" George was confused too but agreed to cooperate.
"Okay.. I'll look around.. found him! He's still here talking to his engineer" Lando gave the go signal and so Lily and Charles went to their floor and room.
