Chapter 22: Blood Pact

"I'm sorry but I have to ask.. what happened?" George says.

Charles suddenly looks at Lily to check her reaction. He knew it hurt still but she masked it all the way and smiles.

"Well.. hmm.. let's just say I got rejected" she lets out a very soft laugh.

"I wouldn't react that way but.. are you like that? Running away from the problem?" Lando spitting facts.

Lily just smiles again as Charles see it he sighs.

"I was going to confess that day.. but I heard him over the phone that he was just playing with me so I—" Lando cuts her off and says "he WHUT"
Charles touches Lando's arm signaling him not to react too much as it might trigger Lily but she..
She just smiles again.

"I mean.. I kinda knew it already but I was a fool to try" she laughs. No one was laughing with her though. George was skeptical on this.

"Did you hear your name? Did he said "I was playing with Lily" ?" George clarifies but Charles interrupts and says "regardless.. she was with him.. who else would it be" his tone was pissed off but Lily just smiles..

"It's fine honestly. We're both in completely different worlds anyways and he never said he liked me like that soooo that's that" she gives a big smile.

Lando was pissed off at this but tries to calm down. He thought why would he lead her on like that. Almost every driver knows there was something between Lily and Lance but seems like he wasn't serious like always.

On the other hand, George has a much more clear thoughts on this. He noticed how Lance was different with Lily. He had a hunch Lance wasn't playing but seems like he was... but it was weird as he usually is correct with his hunches.

They just let it slide now because Lily says she'll be okay but knowing this story, they couldn't stop worrying for her. She became a book that is open but only let's you see what she wants.

and even if it was selfish, Charles continued to stay by her side. Hoping one day, he could make her happy again.

One day at a time, he'll be waiting for it.

Lily was relieved they let go of their anger and promised not to tell anyone about it.

"Wait. Where will Lily be sleeping"  Lando asks.
"I'm planning to let her sleep on the bed. Let's all sleep here" Charles says as he fixes the couch and move the table so they have enough floor space.
"Alrighty then. Rock Paper Scissors for the couch" George starts the game and he wins.
Lando and Charles on the floor and George on the couch while Lily would sleep on Charles' bed.

She felt a bit uncomfortable with the thought.
She went inside the room and slipped in the sheets.
The bed smelt Charles definitely. It was nice. It was very comfortable and warm. She falls asleep right away.

knockknock

"Good morning" Charles softly says as he carefully opens the door.
Lily just wakes up and says good morning too.
