Chapter 24: She's Back

After a week in the Philippines, she had been able to get the papers she needed and got back to Monaco and ever since then, she and Charles had been adjusting to their schedule and working habits.

They have been living together but no one has news of this yet except Lando, George, Pierre and of course Scuderia Ferrari.

The company held quite strict rules but when it came to Charles, they did have some leniency.

Lily has been attending trainings and studying what she felt she needed to do a better job. Charles of course, has been supporting her. She has been pushing her brain cells to focus and give her attention to the details of what it means to work for a prestigious company. It had many perks and she has not taken it for granted. Amber and the higher ups have been pleased in Charles' improvement and adherence with Lily's guidance for the past weeks.

more than 2 months have passed already and everyone can see she was starting to get into her element and be a natural at it. She is even close with most of the employees at the Factory at this point.
Of course, there would always be some whispers about her being there and what her position was but she started to ignore them and proceed to take care of Charles' well being.

"Charles! Have you seen the cutter thing?" Lily says as she searches the drawer. "Oh I used it earlier. It's on the table ma belle" Charles says loudly as he was in the simulator. "Okay!" She founds it opens her package. "Yessssss" She's leaps with joy because of her orders from last month came. Her nail stuffs of course! "Just in time for the race" She starts to prepare her stuff on the table.
It was her first time to use such red color for her nails but then realizes that Ferrari's shade is such a beauty.

She started around 1pm but finishes by 5pm. "my back hurts" she cracks them up by stretching. "Whoa! that's cool!" Charles sees her nails.
"is this a tribute" He grins.
"Yes it's a good luck for your race" She chuckles.
"How'd you do it. That's amazing!" Charles getting so fascinated with the design.
"I asked someone from the factory if it was possible to print and they said yes. They also agreed to give me a printed cloth" She shows Charles a piece of cloth with Ferraris Logo and if you're wondering, yes, it's for a scrunchie.

"our flight is on tomorrow right?" Charles asked. "Yes. I've already packed our suitcases but you still need to pack your necessities" She says as she cleans up the table.

While eating dinner~
You're already there?" Charles was calling Pierre and the boys. "Yeah mate. We had to fly for a meeting" Pierre answers. "We'll be flying tomorrow mate" George says. "Us too. I think we have same landing time?" Lando was checking the tickets. "Yeah I checked. Only George gets there earlier." Lily says. "Sweet! See you guys tomorrow!"

Everyone was excited and nervous at the same time. It was the first race of the season so everything would feel new again and this was Lily's first official race with Ferrari. Everyone said it'll be hectic but they don't doubt Lily's adapting skills.

Austria~

Lily breathes in deep and out. "Ohmygad. It's my first time here" She hops with joy as they walk towards the exit. "Landooooooooo!" She sees him and runs for a hug. "Lilyyyyyyyy!" Lando almost trips when Lily saved him. Charles chuckles as they look like children. "See you in the paddocks then!" Lando waves goodbye as their shuttle arrives.

"We can rest today then it's game time tomorrow" She says to Charles when they were on their way to the hotel and even though they are used to living together. It was proper they got separate rooms. For some reason, even though Ferrari booked the whole floor. They had one room on the upper floor.
"Okay everyone gather here. We'll be picking sticks for the room assignment" Amber holds many sticks but one of them would be the shortest which is the room on the top floor.
"I'm so bad at this" Lily says to Charles. She picked a stick and realizes she got the shortest one.
"Told you" she pouts looking at Charles
"It's gonna be okay. You can stay with me" Charles whispers.

Everyone went to their rooms while Lily went up to the next floor. Her room was at the end of the hallway. She was nervous so she just quickly walked and closed the door immediately.

She looks around and it was very hotel like. Not too cozy, not too formal. Quite stiff honestly but she proceeds to unpack. She sees her paddock pass with her name and picture. She smiles. Above everything else, she still feels happy to work at F1. While hugging her id, she dozed off and fell asleep after a long flight.

alarm rings~

Lily wakes up at 8 and prepares for today's first practice. The schedule for today was her familiarizing herself with the paddock, food for Charles then meetings after the race.

She went to the paddocks early to help fix some things inside. Charles later came to warm up and prepare for the practice. "Ma belle are you okay?" Charles asked after hearing Lily sneeze a couple of times already. Her sneezes were funny hearing. It was as small as a pikachu sound. "It must've been the dust earlier when I was helping them clean" she scrunches her nose. "I guess I'll just wear a mask today" she says as she wears one.

For the practice days, she was just in the Ferrari hospitality and only went to the garage when it was race time. She didn't want to walk around too much because she didn't want to attract media, well, not until Amber allows her to.

She met up with Lando and Carlos a couple of times outside on her free times. George swung by as well but he was on the busier side this race so they didn't bother him too much.

Race day~

"Mon prince es-tu pret?"Lily says as she gets Charles' helmet. Charles repeated the sentence and tells her more on how it is pronounced.
"Ma belle. you are getting good eh?" He smiles so proudly. He felt good today especially seeing Lily standing there with his team.

It was time to place the cars on the grid.
After the initial prep, Lily goes to Charles' car because he was calling her to come over for quick energy boost.
"Just do your best Charles. I'm here whatever happens" Lily says as she smiles.
"I'll need your luck mabelle" he helds her hand a bit despite having his gloves on. "I need to go now"

There was quite a lot of crewmates on the grid so it's like you're on your own world with every team solely focused on their drivers.

Little does Lily know, the team preparing the driver behind Charles was already done and the view was clear with the most little crew on the grid left.

The driver behind saw Lily's side profile while she was talking to Charles. This driver wasn't sure who it was but his heart felt who it was.

Yes, the driver was Lance Stroll, and he felt something pierce his heart when he saw her full face as she's going back to the garage.

He wondered and sighed. "Of course! she went to Ferrari" he muttered to himself as it was only a few minutes away from green light.

I think I'll go for a simultaneous story. I'll focus on Lance Stroll while I'll put in some drafts for a Lando Norris fanfic which would take place in this same time too. I think that it would benefit Lily as she will have a new "girl" friend by the middle of the season while adding fuel to the story.

What do you think? Does Lily need more "girl" friends on the story cause besides Lando, I think I can squeeze a Max Verstappen fanfic so that'll be 2 new besties.. sooo idk.. i'll be running around trying to have 3 personalities 😂
