Chapter 57: Tangled

"Yellow flag" Garage was filled with tension as Seb spun. Lily and Selena were watching along with the crew in the garage from Charles' side. It was a tough race. The racing between Lewis and Max were intense that Selena was holding Lily's hand the whole time. Lily softly chuckles at her and thought it was cute. Charles looked good for this race seems like they have a chance.

"Making his way now around the last couple of corners for his 9th victory in Formula 1 to win the 70th Anniversary Grandprix. Verstappen gives Redbull a win! First since 2012" Selena gasps and smiles. Almost jumped but she remembered she was in Ferrari's garage. Lily laughs at her and whispers Congrats.

Charles Leclerc finishes 4th and Lance Stroll finishes 6th. Indeed it was a good day for points.

Max was such in a good mood and when he got back to the Red Bull Garage. He asks for his phone and calls Selena. On the other side of the Ferrari Garage, Selena was surprised with her phone ringing. Lily sees this and says "Go run there. You'll be able to meet him faster" pushes her lightly as Selena answers the call.

"Congrats!" Selena says as she runs outside and to the Red Bull. Little did she know Max also had run out to meet her. "Thank you! Where are you? Come outside--" They met in the middle and chuckle as they see each other with their phones. Selena drops the call and gives him the sweetest smile. She was happy to witness this win. He runs and hugs her tight and even with the suit and sweat. They felt excited and ecstatic. Max gives her a kiss and Selena understood he needs to go back even though he didn't want to let go. She chuckles and waves goodbye.

On the way back she didn't see any media yet. Thank God but they were seen by Max's PR. Well that's a story for another day.

Lily was with Charles as they continue their usual duties. While Selena was running along with them. She gets a couple of glances from Max here and there. Lily notices this and was quite happy for them.

Lance sees Lily while walking in the paddocks and mouthed to her "Dinner?"
"Early flight today" She says back and quickly returns to her work as one employee from Ferrari sees her and talks to her about some report. Lance understood this and proceeds to his duties.

Lily sends a message to Lance
Lily: Got early flight today babe sorry 😭
Lance: It's okayy. We'll meet in Spain yeah?
Lily: ofcourse babe. I'll miss you though. 😩
Lance: I'll miss you tooo 😘
Lily: See you on Wednesday then
Lance: Get plenty of rest babe
Lily: you too ❤️

Charles and Lily meets Max and Selena at the airport. Max had invited them so they all could go back to Monaco with his private plane. "Thank you Lily" He says as they got to talk. "No thank you. I made a new friend because of you" Lily says to Max as Selena chuckles.
"Heard you had a cafe?" Lily asks Selena as they drank their coffee.
"Yeah. You should drop by sometime. I know you like red velvet cupcakes"
"Wait how'd you know that" Lily was surprised
"Charles said you fancy a good red velvet and cream cheese so I have to let you try our best seller" Selena is a baker and it was fun for her to give what she makes to people she appreciates.
"Really? I never told him that though" Lily chuckles but Selena thought Charles must've been looking at her this whole time. It's not surprising that he knows these little details about her.

They slept for a bit and said their goodbyes when they arrived at the port. Lily and Charles went back to the apartment and rested. Tomorrow will be another day to restart their routine.

This season was jam packed.

There was a little bit of sting for Charles when they arrived in Spain. He still remembers how Lily got hurt by Lance in Barcelona but on the other hand, Lily was quite a bit happy still. This was where they first met and if that didn't happen, there wouldn't even be a love story to begin with.
