Chapter 31: Sparks Fly

Last night ended with them just eating dinner. Lily thought it was nice that in those moments, it looked like a normal relationship. Little does she know, Lance also feels that way and even tries to think of ways on how they could spend time together besides you know, sex.

Race day~

"Ma belle you coming to the grid?" Charles asks as he finishes his suit. "I'll be staying here for today. Amber says I have a conference meeting today" Lily says as she wishes Charles goodluck.

"Late flight today right?" Charles asks.
"Yes after today we'll be taking the latest flight" Lily confirms as she go through her tablet.
She waves goodbye as Charles move along with the crew.

Charles Leclerc DNF. Lance Stroll finishes 7th.

Everyone was disappointed today.
Lily does her duties despite everyone feeling demotivated. She tried to lighten the mood as she went on with her day.

Buzzbuzz

Stroll: did you watch the race?
Lily: congrats! Thats points for the team.
Stroll: thanks. Will you be flying back tomorrow?
Lily: no actually.. we'll be flying late today
Stroll: already? 🙁
Lily: yeahh..
Stroll: where do you stay anyways?
Lily: err.. Monaco
Stroll: near Ferrari for sure
Lily: yeah saves time.
Stroll: when will I see you again then?
Lily: next race? 😅
Stroll: later?
Lily: I'll check I'm quite full today
Stroll: message me then 😉
Lily: will do 😎

Lily finishes packing her stuff back to her luggage and receives a call.
"What was your room number again?" Charles asked as he was walking down the hall.
"541. End of the hall" she says as she grabs her bag and does final check on the room.

Knockknock

"Ready to go?" Charles says as he gets Lily's luggage along with his.
"Yeah" she says as they walk out of the room.

They checked out of the hotel and said their goodbyes to the other crew.
Lily and Charles were talking when Lance sees them as they get into the Ferrari shuttle. He suddenly feels annoyed seeing them together but he doesn't have much choice but to drop it.

Lily: you too 😂
Stroll: see you next week then
Lily: can't wait 😛

Lance reads this and feels excited again. From today, he started to think what he can do to spend more time with her besides the race week.. He thought he could borrow her time but he has to know when she'd be on her period then he could invite her out for a party or a meeting. He thought of things that could take her time and just chill together like before.

Fastforward to GP Hungary 2020

"So after this weekend we will be flying back home then to Britain with the boys. Stay at Lando's for a while then on that weekend go to Buckingham or if they booked a hotel near the track we'd be staying there for the weekend race" I explained to Charles as we go over the week's duties.

"Ma belle you've been working non stop these days. Do you want me to ask Amber for your annual leave?" Charles says as he gets concerned.
"I guess I can take a couple days off when we're in uk. I would love to explore at least a bit" Lily smiles as it was her first time to visit every country they'll be racing on. It was all work but it could be nice to do some sight seeing too.

"It's media day. You should go with Shane. It's about time for the interview." She says as she checks the schedule.

"So Lily.. I know this is your first year and I think some of us are still very excited yeah?" Amber says as if she had some great news.

"Last month I remember you told me you wanted to have some documentation or scrapbook or vlog right?" She asks and so Lily nods happily.
"Upper management now allows you to be seen by the media. You can now tell anybody you work for us and also, you can start posting on your channel too. It's been quite a while since your last video and I think it'll be better if you continue." Lily suddenly forms a big smile on her face.
"Omygod thank you Amber!" She hugs her.
"That's not the news yet love" Amber says.
"What? What else is there?"
"Since you've obviously been doing a great job with Charles and actually gave him more engagement. He scored a clothing line individual sponsorship plus.. goods news is that some of our sponsors actually liked your social media engagement with your followers and since you are a part of Ferrari.. they agreed to write a contract for some sponsored content and products" Amber smiles too as she delivers this great news.
"Omygod Amber!!! Thank you sooo much!" They were both squealing at this time.
"So from now on you can assist Charles and Shane with the media stuff. We will be having more meeting though, you still up for it??" She jokes
"YES!" Lily's so happy right now and this was all thanks to the luck and opportunity they have given her.
"Oh yeah I almost forgot. We have an Alfa Romeo collaboration this weekend. Get your thingy signed. I know you're a fan of Kimi" Amber says and Lily hugs her tight again
"Omygod I might cry! This is so much" Lily says as shes fanning herself.

"I'll be in the office. You should walk around the paddock and search for your video ideas" Amber says her goodbye as she has some work to do and Lily was free for the meantime.

Ringring

Someone was calling so she answered immediately not looking at who it was. No one actually calls her except Amber or Charles so either way. It's probably be Charles she thought.

"Hello?! Omygod can you believe it! I'll be getting sponsorships and I'll get to have Kimi's signature omygod!!" She squealed as she was so pumped and excited for what she just heard. She was so giddy.
"Wow.. that's amazing! Congrats!"

Lily suddenly froze when she realized whose voice it was.
"Oh.. I'm sorry I thought—"
"it's fine. I'm glad to be the first one to hear the news" his tone was somewhat unexplainable
"So uhm.. why'd you call?" Lily suddenly feels awkward.
It was a side of her that she hasn't shown to Lance.
"I wanted to hear your voice" He says nonchalantly.
"Oh.." that was all she could say
"We should do this more often" he says
"wha?"
"So Emily is asking about you.. if you could.. you know.. model for her clothing line and attend a runway when we go to UK before the race.. i mean if you want to?" He was nervous about this and hopes she agrees. They could spend more time because of this. He was so glad he remembered it from that party.
"Uhm.. I would love to but am I even.. qualified for it? I'm so small and I—" Lily suddenly rambles on as her insecurity creeps in.
"Lily. You. Are. Beautiful. Emily wouldn't offer if she didn't see what I have seen in you. You're beautiful." He assures her. Lily suddenly feels sparks flying again. She can imagine how his eyes would look while saying these things. She blushes.

"Uhm.. I'll ask Amber if I can first then.. I guess we can schedule" she says as she hears a very soft "yes" in the background. "Great! I'll be looking forward to it then" He says as she ends the call.

"Ohmygosh what just happened" Lily suddenly squats down with her phone trying to process everything.

"Did I just really reveal myself to Lance? Omygod."
