Chapter 33: In and Out of the Picture

Lily wakes up with a smile on her face.
She hasn't been having nightmares for quite some time now.
She stretches her arms and starts her day with a light exercise. Packs her luggage and calls Charles.
"You awake yet?"
"It's still earlyyyy" Charles complaining means he hasn't packed his bags yet. "Room number?"
"344" he mumbles.

Lily prepares quickly, does her final check, and goes to Charles' room.

"Ma belle is that you?" Charles mumbles as he was facing down the bed.

"Yeahh. You should start to prepare unless you want to board the plane without taking a shower" she jokes as she folds his clothes to his luggage.

Charles groans but slowly stands up.
"Whoa whoa whoa Charles why are you topless" Lily covers her eyes as she saw a glimpse of Charles' body.
"you like what you see?" He jokes
"Charlesss!!" She groans. He does have a very sculpted abs. Quite a hot scene for this early morning
He laughs and goes to the bathroom to shower.
Lily was almost done packing his stuff and was just doing some checks with the schedule. It will be quite hectic yet fun.

Charles goes out almost done.

"Ma belle.. we haven't really talked much these days. Is work getting to you?" He asks as he dries his hair. "There was a lot to do but you know I always manage" she smiles.

"It's just you're a bit different these days. Did something happen?"
"Uhm... I want to ask you something" Lily suddenly gets serious and looks at him. He stops and was ready to listen.

"Would you rather know something that you wouldn't like or be happy with the bliss of ignorance?" She was nervous to tell Charles the truth. She had been thinking about this for a while and she didn't feel good keeping the secret from him. She was scared he might get mad.

"I mean.. rather than be kept in the dark, i would prefer to just get mad at it but atleast I'm not being fooled." He answers seriously.

"I don't know but can you promise that if you're going to be mad.. it has to be with me?" She asks as she fumbled her fingers.
"Ma belle.. I can't promise that besides why would I blame you—"
"Me and Lance have been hooking up" she suddenly blurts out.
"What?" He heard it but refused to believe it.
"No... no.. this isn't real" he mutters as he shakes his head.
"I'm sorry Charles. I just cant.. cant help it" she suddenly looks down to her feet. He feels sad hearing this. He has been always looking at her and he thought Lance would now be out of the picture. Only to know he inserted himself back in.

"It's nothing serious.. we're just sleeping around and that's mostly it" she sighs.
"Mostly?" He questioned.
"Uhm.. there's this thing.. uhh.." Lily was hesitant again. She didn't know if Charles would actually support this too based on his reaction to the Lance news.

"So Amber says the upper management now allows me to be seen by the media. I would be assisting Shane for your interviews, some of Ferrari's partners will be sponsoring me for videos and uhm.."
"That's great news then!" He suddenly brightens up only to be brought down by the next news.
"There's also this amazing fashion designer that I uhh.. met with Lance.. she offered to get me to model some of her work and even walk the runway for her show in uk" she almost stutters as she mentions his name.

Charles sighs but understands that it is a great opportunity.
"Are you mad?" She suddenly peaks at him.
"No.. Just.. confused. Ma belle I know you can do that. Grab the opportunity. You might find your dream while trying out different things. But.. " he sighs again
"Stroll.. what if he.. fine.. I know you are very responsible but the moment he does something again, I'll seriously come for him" Charles clenches his hands but releases them after a while..

He lost yet another chance with her.. but if this helps her be happy who is he to get selfish right?

Lily places her hand over his fists. "Thank you.. I know you wouldn't like the idea..but you still support me.. thank you Charles for always being here" she was feeling bad but she couldn't deny the feelings she's catching for Lance again.

This time she has decided. She'll see through this and afterwards if she fails.. atleast this time she knew she'll have no regrets.

"Come ma belle. Let's go home" Charles weakly smiles and offers his hand so she could stand up.

Before getting into the car, they see the other drivers playing around with Daniel. They were playing truth or dare or something with bets and just so happens that Pierre had to hug a girl. He looks around and sees Lily. "LILY!!" Pierre calls her with his thick french accent. Runs and hugs her for a minute where Charles was also surprised with the sudden scene. Daniel and the others ran towards them laughing.
"No fair Pierre!" Daniel gives his 50 to Carlos as he bet that he wouldn't just randomly hug a girl. They were having fun. "Senorita!" Carlos bows as respect and Lily plays along giving a bow too "senorito!"  They laugh. "You're playing truth or dare with bets?" Lily finds this funny. "Yeahhh! It's fun sometimes" Pierre says as Daniel pouts. "Daniel here likes to play this. He even has a bet with Cyril that if he scores a podium, cyril will have to get a tattoo of his choice"
"That's crazyyy" she laughs.
"Let's play next party!" Daniel says as he pats Lily's head.
"Sure! But you're gonna get bored. I like playing truth!" She waves goodbye as Charles was saying his to the others too.

"I feel a bit sleepy" Charles says as he sleeps on Lily's shoulder. This was normal for them ever since living together. He was very comfortable with her and so she is too.

Monaco~

"Hey.. can I talk to your trainer?" Lily asks George as he was on video call with her.
She was on her tablet preparing Charles' list of food and self training while they'll be staying with Lando.
"Uhh why?" George found this strange.
"Because we'll be staying at Lando's for days and that's gonna be an issue with your management." She says as she continues to work on her tablet
"It's cool with them" he says
"Please. I have to coordinate the food intake you guys have since I'll be cooking"
"You're such a workaholic ma belle" he chuckles.
"Fine. Here talk to them" he hands over his phone to his manager and trainer.
"Hello. I'm Lily. I work with Charles' and we were going to spend days at Lando's so I was concerned about George's diet." She explained and they were surprised at first but got serious once she was asking for their advice and goals. They were impressed at her focus to help them. George could've managed to eat anything but Lily still went her way to maintain what the team wanted for their driver. Lando has prepacked meals from Mclaren so he's good already. She got to speak with Alpha Tauri's manager for Pierre. He was amazed at how she was able to suggest meals for Pierre too. Overall every team was glad that even though they are away from their drivers. They'd be taken care of.

Lance Stroll sent a message
Stroll: Here's where we'll be staying at xxxxx
Lily: we'd be back before media day right?
Stroll: yes
Lily: okayy already filed my leaves
Stroll: they were okay with it?
Lily: Yeah.. I have a contract proposal for Emily though.. I think they want me to wear some products on the runway.
Stroll: send me the file. I'll forward it to her team
Lily: Thank you 🙏🏻
Stroll: so.. you'll be with them this week?
Lily: yeah. The sleepover is a thing now lol.
Stroll: have fun. I'll see you on Sunday 😎
Lily: See you soon 😂

She found herself smiling while looking at her phone and she feels excited for the amazing week ahead of them~

The chapters after this are more on everyone so I think I might post one everyday until I get to the chapter where Lily and Lance are together. So I'll do alternative schedules 😘
