Breakfast tended to be a minor affair in the grand scheme of things. After an hour, everyone started to get a move on their day after the late start they all had.

With warm food in their bellies, it was arguably less chaotic as the energy died down. For now.

You sent a prayer up to the heavens for Aizawa's poor nerves. He was going to be sick and tired of you all before the year even ended. But a smile tugged at the corner of your features. If anyone could prove that all of you were worth the trials and the pain, he could.

The said teacher had left the common area a short while ago, claiming he had some paperwork to finish up, leaving the class to their own devices like usual.

But when Iida had start scolding Bakugou for something that had happened, Asui and Kirishima both doing their best to mediate the situation, you and Shinsou used that as an excuse to sneak away upstairs away from all the commotion as the remaining class that were still in the common room started to get involved.

"Are they going to notice we're gone?" Shinsou asked as he raced the stairs alongside you. You had the brilliantly crazy idea to put all of his luggage and stuff in the elevator to send it up to the fourth floor and run up the stairs to see if you could beat it before it got there.

"Maybe. Doubt it though. Even if they do, they won't care." You replied breathlessly, hopping over the last few steps to lunge towards the elevator doors just before it opened. "Yes!!!"

Shinsou rolled his eyes as he slid in place beside you, dodging you just in time as you pumped your fist and did an extremely cringey victory dance.

"I can't believe I'm related to you." He deadpanned, making a face of disgust. "I need to wash my eyes."

"Oh please," You sassed back, hands planted on your hips. "You're lucky I put up with you."

In that moment, Shinsou's expression shuttered, and your face instantly twisted in regret.

"Toshi, I'm so sor—"

"Don't." He gritted out, effectively cutting you off and your mouth snapped shut. Shoulders tense, frame shaking, he managed to get out, "It's fine."

Guilt gripped your heart. You took it too far. It was far beyond being fine, but he couldn't hear an apology right now and you knew it. Head bowing, your tail and ears drooped, betraying your true feelings, and your brother sighed.

"Y/N, it's fine." Shinsou murmured reassuringly, even though his smile didn't dim the sadness reflected in his eyes. "I don't want to talk about it."

"I know." You responded slowly, frown deepening and you internally berated yourself for being so careless with your words. "I— When you're ready, I'd like to apologize. If that's okay?"

Shinsou flinched and you held your breath.

"Yeah, okay. Okay." He whispered, looking away from you, voice quieter than it's ever been. "Just... just not yet. Not now."

"Okay." You acknowledged softly, brushing your tail against his hand in what you hoped would be comforting. "That's okay."

"Y/N," Shinsou glowered at you. "You know I'm ticklish."

You flashed him a grin and batted it against him repeatedly, harder than last time, making it go thump, thump, thump, whack. "I know."

A beat of silence passed. And then, he lunged.

You shrieked delightedly, dropping down onto all fours to escape his hands and sprinting away.

"Y/N, get back here!!" Shinsou shouted as he gave chase through the hallway.
