Hawks burst out of the shadows, rushing to Dabi's side in an instant. The villain's arm immediately wrapped around the pro-hero's waist, drawing him close. The protective action wasn't lost on anyone and neither was how the hero sank into his hold tiredly.

White binding cloths shot out, ignoring Todoroki and Yaoyorozu's combined shouts of surprise as Aizawa yanked them back safely to his side.

"Get out of here." Aizawa demanded of them, drawing his knife, ready to interfere the moment things escalated.

Todoroki's gaze stayed trained on the scene in front of him, Yaoyorozu just as mesmerized beside him. "No."

Tilting Hawks' chin up, Dabi's eyes narrowed, displeased at the various injuries littered across his body. He snarled. "Someone scratched your face."

Hawks laughed nervously, gaze darting away. His chest heaved with labored breaths and somewhere during the scuffle he had lost his jacket and ripped his pants. Struggling to stand up on his own, he huffed in defeat when Dabi didn't let him go anywhere. "Wasn't fast enough, sorry."

Dabi frowned, lightly brushing his thumb over his cheek with more tenderness than anyone was used to seeing him demonstrate. "... Keigo."

Hawks's legs buckled underneath him. But as Dabi steadied him once more, his hand reached up to cover his. A fire of rage burned in his eyes, but not for the hero or students before him. No, his focus was solely on his songbird and finding out exactly who was responsible for the wounds inflicted on his body.

"I'm alright, Touya. Promise." Hawks whispered so softly only he heard him, nudging his nose against the base of his neck with a throaty chirp. For all his reassurances, his exhausted body betrayed him and he sank into the protective hold of his oldest friend. "Barely hurt. Heh, guess I'm pretty fast, huh?"

Dabi caressed the side of his face lightly, nodding to him. "The fastest, little bird."

Aizawa sheathed his knife and stood down. Even as the abrupt tension dissipated as quickly as it came, he was still left quite confused by this new development. Quickly, he dismissed his students lingering behind him. "Catch up to the others."

They both knew not to protest, not to push, and yet, Aizawa didn't remark on Yaoyorozu's failed half-hearted attempts to get Todoroki away from him. Midoriya's stubbornness was rubbing off on them.

Shifting his body ever so slightly so he blocked his students from the others' line of sight, Aizawa addressed the two before him through narrowed eyes that scrutinized the pair's every move. "I'm not sure I follow."

"Dabi is Touya, my older, thought to be deceased, brother." Todoroki hastily explained from behind him, well aware that this was not the time or place for playing catch up. But he wasn't keen on his teacher getting the wrong idea again. "He's alive. He's left the League of Villains along with Twice, Compress and Toga; but it was recent. Twice apparently deserted them first and the rest of them followed. Shigarki's too far gone, and Kurogiri is still missing, but Midoriya might be able to help him. Save him. Maybe."

And as an afterthought, Todoroki added nonchalantly, "And he's also in love with Hawks."

The pair of them flushed as they got called out by the younger Todoroki and Yaoyorozu's hand went up to cover her mouth in shock.

"I-In love?!" Hawks exclaimed, red cheeks giving away his bashfulness as his wings puffed up, embarrassed. Squirming, he pushed against Dabi's chest. "Tou- Dabi, let me go—"

Dabi curled his arms around him tighter, refusing to let go as his upper lip curled in a disgusted sneer that looked more flustered than angry. The staples pulled unnaturally against his skin, but he didn't waver. "What the fuck, Shouto."
