You looked at your daughter with adoration in your eyes as her tiny fingers held your thumb. You couldn't put into words the amount of happiness and love that you were feeling right now, holding your little princess in your arms but your thoughts always came back to Bucky. You still didn't know if he was even alive and you felt like your heart was breaking every passing day without knowing if he was still waiting for you to come back to him. You dried a tear on your cheek stroking your daughter's hair and only the possibility that she could never meet her father scared you to death. As you still layed in your bed the sound of a knock on the door made you look up and come back to reality.

"Come in." You said trying your best to not wake up Violet. Yes, that's the name you chose for your little princess. You were walking in the garden the other morning while holding her in your arms and from all the flowers growing there, the violets were the ones that caught your eye immediately, their purplish colors made you smile and they were just as beautiful as your little one. You hoped that Bucky would like the name too and you instantly smiled at the thought of telling him yourself and showing him his little girl.

"My queen, I just received a letter from Steve." It was Peggy, she walked towards the bed and you saw her eyes watering and her hands shaking while she held the piece of paper in her hands.

"What happened, Peggy? What did he say?" You asked her waiting for her response.

"They're alive, (Y/N). Bucky was hurt in battle, but he'll be alright according to what Steve said. The war is over for now. We can go back home, my queen." She was smiling widely at you but the tears were still coming from her eyes and now from yours as well.

"May I read it myself, Peggy?" You motioned for her to held Violet as you took the letter from her hands. Peggy stood up moving back and forth and singing a lullaby to keep Violet sleeping.

When you read Steve's words saying that both of them were alive it was like the world was lifted from your shoulders. You couldn't wait to be reunited with Bucky again, for him to finally meet the fruit of your love, your little princess. The tears were flowing freely from your eyes but they were definitely happy tears. Your king was alive, your Bucky. It was time to go back home, back to him and your people.

"We need to go back, Peggy. If the war is really over we can go back to our home. To Steve and Bucky." You placed the letter on the nightstand and stood up, walking towards the door.

"You stay here, (Y/N). I'll talk to Sam and ask him to get the carriage ready for us to travel back home." Peggy gave you Violet back and you looked at your princess as if you were looking to her father's eyes and they were very much alike.

"Thank you, Peggy." You thanked her and Peggy left the bedroom. You walked to the window, looking at the blue sky and finally seeing hope after all the pain from staying away from James.

"You're going to meet your father, my little princess. We'll be together and happy like it was always meant to be." You whispered to her and Violet closed her eyes again as you lured her back to sleep.
