"Are you worried?"
Logan glanced up at his husband from the couch, and he sighed. "Of course I'm worried. Why wouldn't I be?"
Currently, the two were alone in the house because Joe and Oliver had gotten together at the field of mixed emotions for a date. Logan was honestly hoping Joe would break the news to him about what had happened on Wednesday, but that wasn't the thing he was thinking most about.
"Well, it's three to seven days, Logan. It's been three now, but that doesn't mean we'll find out today."
Patton sat next to him, and Logan grabbed his hand for comfort. "I know that. But they're fast. You-Know-Who's scan took about five but technology is a lot more advanced now, I was half expecting to get the results back yesterday."
"We don't know they'll find your prints on it, either. You did use her finger prints on it too, right?"
"Of course."
"So they might just call it a suicide or say they couldn't find anything. Then all you gotta do, is... y'know, play the fake sympathy card."
Logan paused for a moment, looking down to his lap. He sighed. "I'm beginning to realize how messed-up all of this is..."
"How messed-up what is?"
"Our way of thinking."
"Yeah... I guess you're right."
Just then, the front door opened, and in walked Joe, a decently neutral expression on his face. Logan but his lip, and leaned over a bit to better see him as he started for the stairs.
"Joe- before you go up, how was it?"
Joe looked back to them and shrugged.
"Did... did you tell him?" Patton asked. Joe furrowed his eyebrows and made an offhanded gesture.
"No. Of course I didn't, why would I?"
"Honey, you don't have to, we just want you to consider it. Y'know it's likely he'll find out eventually."
"What kind of messed-up stuff are you referencing with your life with my father?"
"That's something we'll tell you about another day, Joe," Logan sighed out. Joe groaned, running a hand through his hair.
"You keep saying that. But when? When is this other day? Or are you guys just gonna keep stuff from me until I learn to stop asking?!"
"Joe, we-"
"You know what? I'll be honest. I miss him. He was better than both of you. And you guys won't get me to stop doing that. I want him to come back."
"Who?"
"Remy."
Logan's phone began to buzz, and the living room instantly silenced. All eyes went to his phone, and Logan's breath hitched when he saw the number.
"...It's the police station," he mumbled. Joe's eyes went soft, and after a moment he slowly approached the couch, sitting down next to his parents as his father answered the call with a gulp, putting it on speaker phone. Patton rubbed his husband's arm, anxiously.
