Title: A Superior Human
Setting: Arlong Park
Time: Mid-daySoft, flowy hair was swept with the wind, her expression unreadable as she sat by the sea. Her hands were delicately placed in her lap as she stared at the open waters, but she suddenly looked around, grabbing her satchel with fear.
She relaxed upon seeing another human, but began to panic when the led her to town, where Arlong was standing, waiting for her arrival.
"I've heard that you're quite the fighter here." He grinned, and looked down at her smaller form, she only nodded in response, glaring at the person who'd come and got them. The said person was being payed.
Her eyes went back to make eye contact with Arlong's, "Well, fight one of my strongest warriors, and I'll think about letting you stay on this island."
She looked, and crossed her arms, speaking for the first time infront of the crew. "It depends on whom I'm fighting."
Arlong stared at the woman's strong form, and laughed, "All Fishmen are superior to humans, pesky wench!" He laughed, "You'll be fighting Chew, one of my three warriors." He grinned.
She nodded, her sharp, oceanic eyes glaring at Arlong, "Fine. I guess I'll take your proposition, only because i care for this village." She said, and turned around, keeping a watchful eye as she made her way away from Chew.
"Let us begin."
....
Kuroobi was...shocked to say the least, how you defeated Chew with little difficulty.
Arlong stared at the form of his friend, and looked at you, "You humans are so cruel, hurting us fi-"
"You asked me to, what else was i supposed to do? An animal does whatever they need to do to live, we are animals, and it is natural. I don't know what happened to you, but I'm sorry." You said it bluntly, making Arlong flinch.
Walking over to Chew, you placed a hand on his forehead, then trailed to his chest, where you'd hit him, and snatched out your medical kit from your satchel, patching him up.
"I just applied an antiseptic to his wounds, and covered them, although they were minor, due to the certain pressure points in a fishman." You murmured, and cupped his cheek, "I hate hurting people."
Kuroobi stood, his arms behind his back as he looked at Arlong, then you. He kept going back and forth.
"Oh- and Arlong." You turned to give him a small smile, "Don't hesitate to find me when you need help. We just got off on the wrong foot." You walked away.
.....
It had been a few days, when Kuroobi saw you rushing, your sandals clicking against the stone as you rushed, tears slipping down your cheeks.
Kuroobi stared, and stood Infront of you, "I need to see Arlong, it's urgent!" You said, softly gripping his shirt.
He slowly nodded, and grabbed your hand, "What's happening."
"Well- my Mom died, and- the village kicked me out...because my Mama was the only one keeping me there." You whispered, wiping your tears.
Kuroobi looks at you, and picks you up, although you weren't terribly small, you were smaller than him.
The Fishmen murmured as Kuroobi carried you, a flushed, but tired expression on your face as you looked around.
Arlong sat, looking into your eyes when Kuroobi set you down.
Your beautiful eyes were dull, like something had happened.
"What is it?" He asked, smirking.
"Well, i got kicked out of the village- because my mother died- and- she was the only one who cared about my existence.
You watched a little girl peek from behind the chair, scared, alone. Nami.
She reminded you of yourself.
You gave her a smile, and she ran out, giggling as she jumped into your arms. You cradled her, lulling her to a peaceful slumber.
Kuroobi and Arlong stared, like you were magical or something.
Arlong cleared his throat, and looked at you, "well- i guess you could fight for me, and take care of the brat of course-"
"She has a name!" Your irked, and bopped Arlong on the head, your fear long gone from this man.
He just grumbled, a bit irritated, "of Nami." He pushed you away lightly.
"Kuroobi will teach and learn things from you, as you both can learn about fighting more anyways." He lazily grinned, "You'll share a room with him aswell."
Bowing with respect, you nodded, and looked at Kuroobi, giving him a happy thumbs up.
He flushed a bit, and nodded, scooping you into an arm as he walked off.
Arlong chuckled, 'All according to plan. Score Kuroobi a lover. Even if it's that human. She's kindhearted, and different- i like her.'
....
You were laying on the beach, your hair sprawled out in the sand, giggling as you watched Kuroobi swim in the water.
You could swim speedily for a human, but it still was a bit slow for Kuroobi- at least you thought so, you'd never swam with him before
You took off your cover-up, and fixed your black and white swimsuit.
Kuroobi was fixated on you, smiling at your small form.
You ran at him, wading into the water.
You jumped, wrapping your arms around his neck as he held onto your waist.
The two of you laughed.
You played with his pigtails, and smiled at him sweetly.
He traced circles along your back.
You went from cold, to sweeter than a sugar cookie.
Kuroobi began to walk in the water, taking you with him.
You held your breath as you went down, you could hold it for up to 5-6 minutes, because of how trained you were on this field.
Your body learned how to take oxygen, and use it wisely.
Kuroobi swam a bit with you, then layed on the surface. You sat on his stomach, smiling.
"Hey, kuroo-chan?" You asked, and traced shapes on his chest, "Yes, N/n?" He retorted
"I love you, you know." You giggled, and leaned down, pressing a kiss to his lips.
He smiled, "i...i love you too." He pulled you in for another kiss, and went below the water, your hands lightly messing with his pigtails once again, Giggling in the kiss as the hair wrapped around your hand in the water.
You were happy, and content with being a human among the Fishmen.
Very happy.
