[This is just a little drabble that came to me when I got Leaves From the Vine recommended in my fucking YouTube and cried for an hour.]
You sighed, and walked up to where your brother was burried, and got on your knees, grabbing incense, setting them up as you began to play your Kalimba softly.
"I wish I could've helped you..."
You didn't noticed the Strawhats behind you, luffy taking his hat off to stare.
You let tears drip down your face as you began to shakily sing.
"Leaves from the vine
Falling so slow
Like fragile tiny shells
Drifting in the foam.."
Your voice got shakier as you continued.
"Little soldier boy
Come marching home
Brave soldier boy
Come marching home
Ash in the snow
Falling so slow
Like fragile broken hearts with no place to go
Little soldier boy
Taken from home
Forced to fight a war
That was not his own.."
Beginning to full on sob as you played your Kalimba, you looked up to the sky.
"Little soldier boy
Cold and alone
Brave soldier boy
Never made it home
Leaves from the vine
Changing so slow
Like empty fallen souls
Looking for a home.."
You began to calm down, but sobs still racked out of your body, making you mess up a bit on your Kalimba, but you continued nonetheless.
"Little soldier boy
Thought he could soar
Brave soldier boy
Fallen in the war
My little soldier boy
I need you home
Brave soldier boy
Come marching home.."
You stopped playing, and looked at your hands. "I know you're watching, and keeping me safe, Ace." You then turned back to look at the Strawhats.
Your make-up was smeared.
"L-luffy-." He knew what you wanted, and threw his arms around you as you two began sobbing, sniffling loudly.
You gripped eachother's clothing as you mourned, as Luffy came back due to your request.
It was his birthday, and you had to come...you had to say hi.
You missed him, and so did luffy.
The rest of the Crew crowded around, turning into a mushy, sobbing mess as you stared at his grave.
You reached out, caressing the headstone.
You pulled his hat over your eyes, and cracked a sad smile.
"I'll be fine, and I'll avenge you, i promise."
[Mmmm did i cry while writing this? Yes, yes i did.]
