Rachel's Pov

I strode into the hospital, ignoring the stench of antibiotics and bleach that threatened to have me bent over and throwing my breakfast into the toilet but God forbid it that I'm caught in a hospital toilet.
I could see her figure, hunched over in a seat, looking smaller than her very tall and intimidating frame. At least she was not making a scene so I took that to be a good sign. I could also see some funny looking people pacing around her but one caught my interest. A dark haired beauty with nothing extraordinary about her appearance but I still felt drawn to her, don't get me wrong. I'm just trying to say that I didn't care less about the others there but I felt the need to observe her more than the others.
"How is she?", I went straight to business. I needed to know if my plans were going to work or not.
"She's in surgery", she sighed and looked down. She didn't stab her, that much I knew. I had called the police on my way here so they'd be here any minute. I took a seat and went in my phone, trying to kill time but my wandering eyes landed on the black haired lady again, she had this aura around her, something maternal and calming even though I was not sitting close to her. She was beautiful but she was not what I had in mind so I paid attention to my phone again.
I saw the police walking the halls and I marched up to the one I knew was in charge if his poise was anything to go by.
"Barrister Sanchez", I stuck my hand out and took it in a firm grip which he returned, great.
"Sergeant O'Connor", he fixed his gaze on me but I didn't waver.
"What is her condition now?"
"She's in surgery. Follow me", I marched to where Cameron was, her whole group now had their gaze on me.
"There she is", I pointed at her and her gaze shifted to something dark.
"Ms Davis you are under arrest for the attempted murder of Ms Jameson, I suggest that........"
"What the fuck?!", The black haired lady shouted with venom laced voice, glaring daggers at me while Cameron maintained eye contact with me, smart cookie.
"I suggest that you remain silent or whatever you say will be used against you in the court of law", the sergeant finished anyway with a pair of handcuffs in his hands.
"Nova it's ok. Call my lawyer and look after her", Cameron stood up and offered her hands to the sergeant. Her other friends hovered over me with menacing glares but I didn't care less, they don't scare me. The police took her away and she didn't utter a word, just a steady gaze on me.
"What is this?", The man I knew too well spoke and I stared at him, nonchalantly.
"Just make sure Sarah's ok. If you know what's good for your friend, leave your gang out of this".
"You don't expect me to sit around and do nothing while you falsely accuse her"
"It's the best way to keep her safe Jase. Emotion is the enemy of logic, you taught me that so now I'll ask you to hold your gang off and not let emotions destroy everything you have all worked for. Cameron is safer in jail for now, at least that's what the world knows"
He stared at me and a moment of understanding passed through us and he slumped his shoulder before nodding and holding off the black haired lady who I now knew as Nova. Nice name.
I stalked out of the hospital, everything planned out in my head. Let the game begin.

*****************

They lead her to the waiting room while I impatiently tapped on the table, subtly I might add. The reason I was impatient, I don't know but I just know I wanted to go back to the hospital and keep an eye on Sarah but a part of me knew that I wanted to see Nova.
"I see you are already settling in", I grinned at her, ignoring her killer glare that was directed at me.
"How is she?", She sighed after glaring at me. She knew what I was playing at and she wanted to avoid it.
"She's fine according to Jase. I left soon after"
I stared at her and she had a conflicted look in her eyes, a look she was doing great at hiding, I'm just too good at reading these signs.
"Cameron it is not your fault. She took the decision to stab herself all on her own", I sighed.
She snapped her head up at me as if surprised that I picked on that fast but I just nodded at her instead.
"She was fine until I went after her"
"She was going to do that anytime soon"
She nodded and stared at nothing in particular and at that moment it was like pain radiated off her body and I was like a sponge, soaking it up.
"How is Lily since you are here?"
"I brought the brat"
I shuddered at the mention of her brat sister. That girl was the ultimate test God sent down for humans, to test your patience and just your whole being. When she saddled me with the responsibility of looking after the brat before she travelled, I thought it could be any other sixteen year old but she was the devil herself. Don't get me wrong, I am not a fan of children and she was just a whole continent of annoying children on her own. She chuckled at me and I narrowed my eyes at her.
"You knew you were shipping the devil to my house you conceited, bitch!" I screeched at her and the bastard could only laugh at me.
"Watch it, that's my sister", she tried to warn but it came out in a cackle. I huffed and glared at her. I should have known how much she hated my guts and I could not abandon the little devil, I do have a heart. I didn't know how she did it but she always had a way of riling me up, more than anyone I know, she and her sister.
"You know I could go home and let you laugh to your satisfaction but then you'd really be arrested. You don't want to explain to a judge what happened", I sneered and she aborted her laughter and scowled at me.
"I'm happy that we finally agree on something", I smirked at her while she looked like she swallowed a stone.
"What are your plans?", She asked while folding her hands across her chest.
"Simple. Have a court hearing and sentence you to prison for attempted murder, have a jailbreak which is not one because the Jamesons will think you are rotting away in prison. The fun starts from there".
"And Sarah?"
"She's my client now so her safety is my business. When she wakes up which I hope will be very soon she will have to testify against you so that your imprisonment will be legit. Till then you will have to stay here, you will go from the court house to stay in the family home, that way nobody will know of your escape or whereabouts and with you out of the picture it will be between Sarah and the Jamesons and I will make sure Bradley Jameson will get a well deserved sentence".
"I will not sit here in hiding while my woman is in that hospital", she sneered.
"Oh you will, when you realize that it's the only way to help her"
"I'm tired of not being  there for her when she needs me, I just need........"
She got quiet and exhaled, I understood her predicament there even though I could not relate to that feeling.
"You are being there for her, just not physically but you are being there for her and she will know that it's best for you both"
It was getting harder for me to sit there and act like I had no emotions so I finished that talk faster and walked out of the station, after making sure that she got a good room and facilities in the station because as much as I wanted to keep her with those criminals there, Sarah will have my head if I do that. Driving to my cabin and having to see the mess that was there reminded me of a lot of memories that I needed to stay deep down inside of me and never come out.

"We have had these cases before and know just how to cast that demon away from them", the old lady said somberly and eyed me with an ugly look in her very dark eyes.
"Please help us, we have tried everything but it looks like it is not letting go of her"

I shook my head to rid me of those dark memories before I got too deep into it and proceeded to take some pictures and then clean up the cabin before retiring for the night and tried to negotiate with the demons that followed me everywhere I went, demons that had become my companions.
