Monday came quick.
George was shaking me awake. While my eyes fluttered open I was made aware of the events that occurred with Draco and Blaise last night and groaned.
I opened my eyes and George slightly smiled at me with his gorgeous lips.
"Time for breakfast," he whispered, placing a soft kiss on my jaw.
I looked around the room and noticed that Pansy and Daphne's beds were messy and they were not occupied. I suppose they already went down for breakfast.
George had to go back to the Gryffindor common room to get ready for the day so we quickly kissed one another goodbye.
I got ready quickly and rushed down into the Slytherin common room.
It was empty except for one small first year in the corner, reading an extraordinarily large textbook.
I ignored her when she glanced at me and made my way to the Great Hall for breakfast and a long week ahead of me.
Hey," I greeted as I sat next to Draco at the Slytherin table for breakfast.
Pansy and Blaise greeted me back but Draco stayed silent.
"Are you mad at me?" I whispered.
He bit his bottom lip. "No."
"Good because you were the one acting deranged last night."
"Me? I was deranged? Sure, Y/n."
"It was as if you wanted to get in a fight with George. And for what reason? It's not like you have a reason to be jealous or anything so I don't see the problem."
He shook his head as if I was acting oblivious.
"What, now?" I asked.
"Oh you know, it's just that sometimes you can be really thick. I've been pretty obvious around you and you still seem to act like I want you to be my friend."
I furrowed my brow and a lump filled in my throat.
"You don't want to be friends? Is that was this is?" I choked out.
"Of course I don't want to be your stupid friend!"
"Fine then stop hanging out with me!" I shouted, getting attention from my housemates and other students who were listening in on the argument.
"You don't get it do you?"
"Get that you don't want to be my friend? I think you were pretty clear on that!" I yelled once more.
"Don't you understand that I don't want to be your friend because you mean more to me than that?"
"So that's all you — what?" I paused, replaying his words in my head. "More than a friend? What do you mean by that? You want to be more than friends?"
"It's obvious you don't feel the same so I'm done," he mumbled while standing up and either getting an early start to classes or to entirely skipping them.
I impulsively sprinted out of the room after him. He was making his way to the common room but I shouted from down the hallway to receive his attention.
"Malfoy get back here!"
He turned around to face me while looking exceedingly stressed out.
"What do you want from me?" he asked while I walked closer towards him.
"I want you to stop hiding your emotions and tell me what the bloody hell is going on!"
"I can't believe you didn't see it until now. I've done more for you than anyone in my entire life and you're so oblivious!"
