I quickly limp away from the four of them and into the woods. I don't care. I think over and over again. I don't care. I walk until I can no longer smell their scent. Until my senses are drowned by the woods.
"I love you!...I know you like it when I scream..."
I stop dead in my tracks.
No.
Without warning, I immediately shift, ripping my clothes and stitches in the process. Pain shoots through me as my wolf tries to complete the transformation. I'm stuck. I finally realize with horror. I'm stuck mid-shift. My fur visible, but hazy and my wolf barely there.
"I need you!...I don't care that you've been with half the school..."
With a snarl, I finish the shift. My wolf instantly in a sprint.
"He called for seconds a few months ago..."
I shake my head furiously before blindly flying through the snow. A growl escaping from my mouth as I think more about the girl.
"Can't we meet up later and have some more fun? I know you want to..."
I run into a tree, whimpering as pain shoots up my side. I instantly ignore the pain and trudge further in the woods, heading towards my house.
Wait.
I don't have my keys. I don't have anything. I left everything at Gabriel's.
Gabriel.
I whimper at the name and my vision goes blurry.
No.
Without a second thought, I mindlessly sprint back into the thicker part of the woods. Letting the trees comfort me and my aching heart. I run into a thick trunk and growl at it.
My vision flickers for a moment and I shake my head, trying to clear it. Another whimper leaves my mouth at the vulnerability. But quickly anger fills in the concern.
Snap.
Is all I hear before pain erupts from my side. I scramble to my feet and glare at the wolf who ran into me. The she-wolf was glaring at me, displaying her teeth in a nice snarl.
Vanessa.
I growl loudly and start to circle her. She mimics my actions and bites at me in warning. I lower my stance into a fighting position at her threat and snap my own canines.
"Wanna go for a round or two?..."
My vision goes hazy for a moment before shifting back into focus. Vanessa seems to notice my distraction and lunges for me. I lunge back and we are both in a flurry of bites in seconds.
She snaps at my leg and clamps her teeth down until she hears a loud snap and I allow a whimper to escape my mouth. As soon as her clamp loosens from my leg, I snap at her, taking hold of her front paw. I shake my head vigorously until I also hear a snap.
We both stare at each other. I make the first move and plow into her side, knocking her and me both over. I bite at her body until I hear her whimper and I let go. She jumps at me again and takes hold of my hind leg, biting down until I howl.
For a moment, the world stops as I try to writhe around from her gums only to be ambushed by another wolf. The wolf comes crashing beside me and I turn my head to look. First mistake. Vanessa and the other unknown wolf take me at the same time. Both of them plowing into my body, compressing it until loud cracks are heard; my ribs breaking.
