First, I'm sorry if you believed this is an update because it is not. If you don't like author notes and just skip the feelings of the person writing the book you are currently reading, then I suggest you stop reading this now.
Second, I don't know why, but I feel like explaining this book and it's background a little bit to deepen the meaning of this story.
I'll get straight to the point.
This story is based on real life events that have happened to me. Not all the werewolves and deaths, obviously, but the events that occur in this book are very much real.
This book is my book. My story. The reason I originally started this book is to tell the story of my past to people who can't judge me with his or her eyes. This story originally started in my head one night after a bad fight with my dad.
That's correct: the drunk father and slight violence towards Journey is true.
My point of writing this is to not only encourage the minds of the victims of bullying, depression, self-harm, but to also encourage myself not to dive too deep into my past. Not to get lost in the past I have long since buried.
Now, I'm sorry to those of you who want Journey and Gabriel to immediately mate, have children, and *boom* done because, as much as I hate to burst your bubble, that's not how it works in the real world.
In the real world there are doubts. In the real world there are many, many regrets. And in the real world there are plenty of mistakes. Some might get frustrated at Journey's hesitancy and doubt, but one can not simply trust another person immediately after meeting them, mate or not.
I have recently asked someone why my story might not have as many views as I believe it should and they replied by saying that my story "doesn't have enough romance". Now, I apologize if kissing, hugging, and holding hands isn't enough for some of you, but keep in mind that they just met.
Also keep in mind Journey's past: my past. I'm fully aware of the hesitancy that appears after so many years of distrust. I am also fully aware of the advantage people will take over you if you are too naïve. That is why I made Journey's character hesitant and untrusting.
Again, I don't really know exactly why I did this sucky explanation of the background of this story when I'll probably get comments like, 'no one cares', 'stfu attention whore', and the all too famous 'I don't care'.
How about no mean comments, huh? How about we spare the soul of the author who just relapsed and is trying to get her shit together for all of you.
Wait, I forgot. To whomever has a bad past, a dark secret, a body issue, a problem you don't know what to do with, social anxiety, suicidal thoughts and/or actions, inbox me. Message me. Call me. If you need someone to talk to on the phone to talk you out of doing something you'll regret, give me your number and I'll call you. Tell me. I might be some random stranger, but I'm a random stranger who cares.
Promise me.
Promise me.
Promise me.
Promise me you'll tell me what's going on. Promise me that you won't do anything you'll regret. Promise me that when you think about relapsing, you'll inbox me. Promise me when you are in the bathroom, wracking through your mom's pills, you'll talk to me instead. Promise me that when you're crying and you feel like no one cares you message me.
Promise me.
