My whole body stills. I see multiple emotions flicker across Gabriel's face before he places an emotionless mask on. I slowly turn around and face Jason. A sly smirk was placed on his lips.
"Jason," I nod and applaud myself for my even tone.
"Did you get my note?" He asks.
"I-"
"What note?" Gabriel's gruff voice injects. For a moment, fear flashes in Jason's eyes before he just smirks again.
"Oh she didn't tell you?" He asks maliciously.
Gabriel looks at me expectantly. I shrug. "Someone messed with my locker. It's no big deal."
"No big deal? When did all this happen?" Gabriel asks. I avert my gaze. Gabriel takes a step closer so his breath was warming my neck. "Journey," he warns.
"Jason filled my locker up with water." I confess.
"And the note?"
"It said I was going to pay for his nose." I rush out.
It takes all but three seconds before Jason is pinned up against the wall by his neck. Gabriel was snarling in his face. His eyes were a brilliant scarlet color as they burned into Jason's. "I thought you learned your lesson the first time, pup," Gabriel growls and slams Jason against the wall again.
Everyone by now has taken multiple steps back. Power was rolling off Gabriel and the urge to submit hit me. Jason was whimpering and trying desperately to claw his way out of Gabriel's grasp.
"I will tear you apart," Gabriel's voice came out low and dangerous. He takes a step back and makes his way over to me. And then, suddenly, his towering figure was hugging my small one. He nuzzled his head into my neck and breathed in my scent. The gesture made my heart skip a beat. He turns back around to face Jason. "One more time," he warns. "One more fucking time, pup, and I will feed your dead body to the rogues." Gabriel says slowly.
Multiple wolves were surrounding us now, flanking their Alpha. "Go," Gabriel snarls in his Alpha voice and Jason scurries away like he was a pumpkin Spice latte and a herd of basic white girls were on his tail. Gabriel turns back to me. "Let me see your locker." He says. It wasn't a question.
I quietly lead him to my mess of a locker. My books were still abandoned on the cold floor and I felt Gabriel tense beside me. "I'll kill him," I hear him mutter.
"Don't. It doesn't matter." I plead. "I don't like school anyways," I say in a lighter tone.
"It doesn't matter? Journey, he's threatening you. He's threatening my mate." He growls.
"Yes, but I can take care of myself." I justify stubbornly.
"So, I see you spilled the beans," July walks over and nods at her Alpha.
"Yeah,"
"Well, he took it a lot better than I thought he would. He didn't gut the asshole like a fish or tear him apart and feed his balls to the rogues. So I guess that's good." She shrugs and the boy behind her looks at July with an affectionate gaze.
"Is that Josh?" I ask and the boy steps forward, puts a hand to his heart, and does a small bow.
"Hello, Luna. I will soon be your guard, I suppose. It's a pleasure to finally meet you." He says formally and I gape, taken aback. Then, he looks up at me and grins. "Kidding." He laughs. I glare at him and then at July and Gabriel for they also start dying of laughter.
"It's not funny," I mutter, looking down. Gabriel is the first to sober up.
"Sorry," he coughs, trying to cover up another snicker. "It's just that Josh is one of the few in our pack that actually act casually. It's hard to see him feign formality." He explains quietly while Josh and July high five and give small pecks on each other's cheek, still laughing obnoxiously loud.
"Oh, of course," I start and grab Josh's hand. He quiets down and looks at me in surprise. "It's such a delight to meet you and you me. Would it be alright if I hand over a big 'fuck you' off to you or is that being to stingy?" I ask in a courtly manner and Josh looks at me in shock. The silence remains until July snorts.
"She's got you there, babe."
A slow grin creeps onto Josh's face and shakes my hand. "Oh, I like you," he says in a matter of fact tone before hollering over me to Gabriel, "She's a total keeper."
Gabriel pulls me back and slings an arm over my shoulder. "I know."
A/N: This chapter sucked but I really wanted to update so I kinda threw it together. Sorry! And yes! I finally received some feedback! *does a retarded t-rex dance and embarrasses all friends* Okay! I will most likely update later tonight! Bye~
