Chapter 36
Zale ran for minutes, trying to keep up with Chiron's galloping, until finally they barged into the office.
Chiron stood behind the desk, waiting until Zale entered and watched him harshly.
"What are you doing?" Chiron asked, a little too loudly.
"I'm just trying to help Priya. She needs a friend, someone who will guide her on the right pat-"
"No! What she needs, is rest. We need to know what her lost memories are. She's a senior demigod at the camp and one of the few who knows the camp's secret. We need to know why her memories aren't there,"
"That's what I'm trying to figure out Chiron!" Zale said, growing more frustrated. "I'm hoping that by spending more time with her, I could get her to open up."
Chiron looked at Zale, seeing his genuine frustration and then asked, "What of Percy? Have you figured out what you're going to do with him yet?"
"I don't know if we should tell him what will happen or not. I trust him completely. But when it comes to Priya, he can be very protective." Zale shook his head.
"Jay?"
Zale smiled. "I trust Jay. Of course I do. I think he's one of those that was affected the most after Priya left. He knows that she's different so I think he might agree to us trying to get her back to how she was."
"Then we tell Jay. Before nightfall, he must know the plan."
Zale shook his head. "Thank you Chiron."
Chiron bowed, lowing his upper half of his body, bending his two front hinds as well.
Percy and Jay watched as Zale ran behind Chiron, confused and looked at each other, picking up the swords that they left behind.
Priya sat on the ground, and they joined her."How was that training practice with Zale? Was it difficult? I think you shouldn't be doing this Priya. You need rest." Percy rest his hand on her back.
"I don't need rest Percy. I'm tired of people telling me that I need to rest and treating me like if I'm a fragile little girl! I'm not! I need to train. I need to get back to how I was before. I need to be a powerful warrior. I don't need rest." She glared at him, before getting up and storming off to their Cabin.
Percy watched as she ran off. "You're so stubborn," he muttered.
"Kinda like you then?" Jay said, raising his eyebrow at Percy.
Percy rolled his eyes playfully. "It's definitely a Poseidon thing."
"What's up with Zale?" Jay asked.
"He seems suspicious right?"
"Why is he interested in Priya all of a sudden? He's training with her, constantly visiting her in the infirmary. It's weird."
Percy smirked. "Is Jay Walsh jealous?"
"What? No of course no. Children of Aphrodite don't get jealous. Besides, I'm seeing Aria," Jay said defensively.
Percy looked down. "Right."
"I do still love her you know. But I'm not what she needs right now. She needs to focus on healing and trying to get back those memories. I don't think she should handle more than that."
Percy shook his head. "Yeah I know. I just- I just wish she had someone else besides me to talk about stuff and to be there for her.
"Well," Jay said, looking up, seeing a curly blonde haired, green eyed boy walking towards them. "She has him now right?"
Zale walked over and sat next to Percy, without whispering a word. Jay and Percy both looked at each other and then to their right, looking at Zale.
"Can we help you?" Percy asked.
"Jay. May I have a word with you please?"
Percy looked at Jay, who shrugged his shoulders.
"By the lake. Meet me in 20 minutes."
