*2 days later*

Priya sat on the shore of the beach surrounded by campers who were now getting out of the water, or playing volleyball, and slowly regaining their smiles after the war.

She stared at the orange skyline, the sun hallways into the water, listening to the sounds of the laughter and swords dying down.
She barely slept in the last few days since Percy told her about his theory. That she was being controlled by them without even knowing it. Apart from her nightmares about Jay, she didn't want to risk falling asleep and doing something she'd regret.

She heard a few footsteps on the damp sand, and turned slightly as Ed approached her.

"Want company?" He sat and she nodded. "What are you thinking about?"

She chucked a little for a frost time in days, looking at him, and the orange hue that fell on his face.
"Life. Do you ever wish you weren't your father's son? That you weren't a demigod at all?"

He furrowed his eyebrows, now getting the trail of thoughts she was having, looking over at her green eyes which no longer the bright green it used to be, but rather dark and looked almost brown.

"Yeah," he finally admitted. "Sometimes I wish I had a normal life, where I could just play music and make people happy over my winter break, instead of fighting a war," he meant for it to be humorous but even he didn't laugh. "Though I think, it's different for you."

Priya shifted her focus back to the ocean, folding her hands on top of her knees and placing her chin on them.

"You have a stronger scent than most of us. It's more difficult for you and Percy," he paused.
"It's not your fault, Priya. You know that right?"

"But it is. The one place I've called my home since I was 7... I've betrayed. I thought I was helping by staying and fighting in this war, but in reality I ruined everything. I was the one who let them in!" She felt her voice break, but she didn't have any tears left. What was the point? She didn't need to feel sorry for herself. Everything was already ruined, and even though everyone said that it wasn't her fault, they still looked at her intensely every time she passed by.

In a matter of months, she went from being one of the most admired and fearless warrior in camp, to being the one no one trusted but still tolerated out of fear.

Except Edward, and Percy. They looked at her the same and treated her the same. Even Annabeth and Nico understood why she did it, but even they were a little scared that she had sacrificed her best friend to save everyone else.

"But you saved us in the end, Priya! You got rid of them!"

"Yes, by sacrificing my boyfriend!" She shook her head, and Edward nodded slowly to himself noting the fact that she had still called him her boyfriend.

He liked her, and she knew that. And some part of her liked him too, but not in the way he wished it was. Not in the way she loved Jay. And he couldn't stand between them, so he's never mentioned it to her until just a couple months ago when they kissed by the hearth.
But seeing her now... her reaction to Jay's death, he knew that she didn't feel the same way about him.
And he was okay with it. Because deep down, he'd rather her be with someone who made her happy.

"You're still a hero, Priya. You always will be. People think that you took the cowardly way out, but I think what you did required the most courage. You're a -"

There was a loud galloping noise that interrupted him, and they turned to see Chiron running towards the beach at full speed, with Percy and other campers who had just joined in after him.

Percy glanced at Priya for a split second before running into the water, disappearing as the waves grew larger and it got deeper.

The great white stallion that was just a few feet away from her, was watching through his binoculars at something she couldn't see.
