9. Nothing

Today was just another day of school boring.  I love photography and I  am on partial scholarship and loans, but would I better venturing out and seeing if I better intern under someone and learn that way.  Its half a year I feel I am wasting.  I had the day off today so I got on my laptop and started looking up photography studios and other places. I wrote several down and road my bike to them. I  took one of my cameras with me. I  ring the door bell and a lady maybe in her late twenties answers the door. I  explained to her what I want to do but the university isn't teaching me anything really new. Samantha is a gorgeous woman and invites me in.."Jane you can keep your bike down here. I have someone for you to meet that might interest you. Follow me. " She closes and locks the door behind me. "Joey this is Jane Rizzoli and she is interested in learning and the university isn't challenging nor teaching her anything new."  Joey starts to laugh. "Jane yes, I agree with you.  I went there and left after a year. I  ventured out just like you and got my break. You met my sister already.She does the paperwork and I do the actual photo taking. Is this your only camera?" " No, I have a few others but didn't want to cart them around on my bike."  " I have a customer coming in
I want you to use your camera and do what you want after I take my photos. She will be more than willing to take additional photos especially when I tell her, you will be doing her for free..Sis get her an job application. I can use you on Friday and Saturday afternoons from 10-6. If you cannot make it, call Samantha.  I don't want you dropping out yet. Your parents might not appreciate it. I will pay you fifteen an hour and any photos the customers like I will sell them at my price but give you 50 percent of each picture. " "Joey how much do you charge for photos?" "The prices vary from 45. to 500.00 but if its for an ad or a model 5,000 and up. "  Joey hands me a memory card. I complete the job application and wait for the lady to show up..I am getting a vibe that Samantha Brooks is into me, but I ignore it. Samantha brings several water bottles and hands me one. I smile and thanked her.  The customer shows up and I recognize her from magazines. Demi this is Jane. She started today and all pictures she takes will be free labor but if you like her photos,  the costs are the same." "Jane its nice meeting you."  I look at Samantha and she laughs.  " Joey didn't want you to freak out is why he didn't tell you.  You got this,  just breathe." Joey was finished in an hour. I asked Demi if she prefers indoors or outdoors photos. "Actually both." "Let's walk to the park with my bike and you ride it
Do you know how to ride a bike?"  Everyone giggled. I start shooting photos and we get to the park. "Samantha will you watch my bike so I don't have to lock it up and my cell too so I don't get distracted.?" Samantha agrees and I hand her my cell. I  Instruct Demi what I want her to do on the playground with the kids and parents or  babysitters present.  Joey has the parents and babysitters sign releases.  I was happy to see Jane taking risks in her shots and Demi went with it. "Demi I wish we could stay longer but I only have the card Joey loaned me and mine. If you would like more photos to be done by me, contact Joey and I will make sure I have enough usb cards."
" Jane do you mind if we seat here and I review the pictures you did take?"   "No not at all." Joey tells Samantha when they are done, go back to the studio and have her download them. What is this hit on Jane day? Demi was flirting with me and I felt myself turn red. Demi hands me her card and writes her personal cell. "Call me if you not busy Saturday evening. I would like to hang out and get to know you better without having Samantha giving me death stares " Demi and I get up. Demi kisses me on my lips.  " I know you have a girlfriend as you told me in those photos but still."  She waves goodbye and and goes in her waiting car. " I don't like herm She hit on you right in front of me. You have a girlfriend?"  "Yes. she is pre med at Stanford on a full scholarship. Why are you mad? She kissed me and I didn't kiss her back but even if I did, I am still have a beautiful gal." " Here is your cell,  your Maura called and I answered it. You might want to call her back especially, since I told her who you taking photos of."  Jane just looked at me and didn't say a word.I  text Maura. I will explain everything later once I finish downloading the photos.♡ Jane. ' We went back to the studio and downloaded thw photos.  I gave Samantha her brother's card back.  I  said my goodbyes and left.  I called Maura and explained all.  " Jane congrats but please don't quit school.  finish the year out and re evaluate all. I cannot believe they both hit on you even though you're gorgeous."  "Maura I am yours don't be jealous. "
" Jane I didn't want to tell you but someone I have been studying with has been hitting on me too and I didn't stop it."  " Maura are you saying what you cheated on me and slept or had sex with another girl?" " Yes, its been going on for a few days now. I am sorry. " Jane hung up on me and didn't say anything. I  called her back and it kept going to voice mail. She wouldn't reply to my texts.  I  Knew I should wait but I called Demi. " Demi I will meet with you on Saturday.  Just tell me the place and time. I will uber there."  "Nonsense, I will get you. just give me your address. " I gave her my address and said goodbye. I removed Maura as my screen saver and just left in secured elsewhere. I am indeed heart broken.  My cell rings,  "Maura who would you like the check made out too? You made a huge amount today from the photos from Demi.  I will send you an e-mail showing you what photos she wants. She is purchasing more of yours than Joey's this time. I think she definitely wants you. She called Joey and told him to make sure you are done on time on Saturday and she has a date with you. I guess you prefer her. Its okay, I don't give up easy. Won't your gal be mad though?" 
" Samantha please make the check made out to me. I will pick it up when its ready. In regards to my gal, there isn't. "  " Jane, the check will be ready in an hour,  I just have to wait for Joey to return to sign it.  Maybe you and I can go out for dinner. "  "Samantha I really am flattered, but I don't want to mess up my work deal with Joey if something went wrong with us."  " Jane no problem, but I always eventually get what I want.  I want you in my bed fucking me all night and calling out my name."  Jane hangs up.   What the fuck. She gets what she wants.I don't want to be a notch on her belt even though it's tempting. I get dressed in my running gear and decide to run over there instead. The run will do well for me. I arrive at the studio in thirty minutes. I ring the door bell. Joey answers it. " You ran here.  Its late. I have another late session.  Samantha will take you home.  She is off soon and its not up for debate.  I would feel bad if something bad happen to you." I  go inside and Joey goes upstairs. " I hear I am to take you home. Come on and here is your check."  Its in an envelope. I open the check.  My eyes must be deceiving me. The check is for over 12,000 dollars.  Shit one sitting with Demi and I have my half of the car. " Samantha do you mind if we go by my bank to deposit it?"  "Sure no problem. Just tell me what bank I am driving you too."  I deposit the check and Samantha waits for me. "Jane I know its late, but I am hungry and I need to eat. I will pay for yours." I don't say anything,  we go to a drive thru and Samantha orders her food and I tell her what I want. With what Maura told me, I missed the dining hall dinner.  "Samantha we can eat it in my dorm if you like.  I know not too many foods from fast foods taste good cold."  We arrive at my dorm and she parks her suv Nissan in the guest slot.  We get out and I am still holding the food and drinks. She takes the drinks from me. I feel a funny feeling in my arms after she takes the drinks. Fuck I am screwed. I open the door to the dorm and my door to my room. " Sorry its not fancy but it works for me. " Jane don't worry about it. I have no problem sitting  on the floor eating." "Samantha we can eat on my bed as long as you don't drop food."   Samantha sits on the rug.  "So you are a messy eater,  I am guessing." I join Samantha on the rug.  While eating,  ahe asks me what happened and noticed a box from Maura I haven't even opened. " Jane whatever happened must of been bad for you not to open your box from her?"  "Yes, it was bad, but I forgot
to open it.  I can open it now, if you don't mind." "No, I don't mind. " Jane opens it and sees a note.  Jane reads it and gets misty eye and looks at the items.
" Jane its her loss, but we can use one or several if you want."
" Samantha don't tempt me I don't have the strength to deal with all of this. My cell rings as well as my lap top. I get up and shut down my lap top and sit in my bed. " Oh Jane, she hurt you bad. This would be too easy to take advantage. I can't do that to you."  "Samantha,  I have only been with Maura. I have always been faithful where she wasn't. "  I hand her the note. " 'Babe here are some things we can experiment with on our nightly talks and when I return.  ♡ Maura.'
