Chapter 11 - I won't let anybody come between us

Jay's Pov

You could feel the tension between me and Bailey that afternoon. I was pissed and she was upset and everyone picked up on it.

"Whats going on with you and Cooper asked Ruzek when we were getting coffee in the breakroom.

"I overreacted about something" I told him "and now she's not talking to me"

"Well as we all know I'm terrible with relationships but I think you need to apologise" he tells me.

"You don't think I haven't tried" I say pissed off

"You need to do something like take her out for dinner or something, it always works when I do that" he tells me laughing

"And you wonder why you've been engaged so many times" I say walking out.

What he said did start an idea forming in my head and i decided to act on it and take her for a detour on our way home.

Bailey's Pov.

"Jay where are we going?" I say angrily we had left work nearly an hour ago and we still weren't home.

He didn't answer and kept driving.

We carried on driving for another 20 minutes before we stopped in a car park not far from the beach.

"What are we doing at the beach?" I say
I was still upset with him for having a go at me earlier and just wanted to go home  have a shower and go to bed.

He walks round the car and takes my hand in his and begins to lead me off down the path over the dunes to the beach.

We keep walking until I see a familiar scene a small dock leading out into the sea.

"This is where you proposed" I say smiling at the memory.

He smile and takes my hands in mine.

"Look bay, I'm sorry about earlier I overreacted and I get why you didn't tell me, I guess when I found  out I...."

"You felt threatened" I finnish "I know I get it. Davis and I were together a long time ago, we've both moved on, I love you Jay and only you, but i need you to understand how shouting makes me feel, after everything with mum I really struggle to cope with people shouting at me" I say tears forming in my eyes

I got so emotional theese days, before I met Jay I had my guard up 24/7 but now I felt so safe and loved I could completely let the walls down and show my true emotions.

"I promise from now on I won't shout at you" he says squeezing my hands

"I love you Jay"

"I love you too Bailey-Jay and I won't let anyone come between us and our relationship again"

"Now can we please go home I'm cold" I say laughing

He takes his Jacket off and wraps it round my shoulders.

"Yeah come let's go" he says.

We walk back along the Dock and along the beach back to the car.
