Logan's POV

When we arrived home there was a handwritten note on the front door from Torryn.

Follow the path, Torryn-

I opened the front door and found rose petals trailing toward the back of the house. I made my way to the back door where they stopped. I opened the door to find the backyard transformed into a fantasy dream. The trees were decorated with string lights and the walkway was lined with burgundy peony and white rose arrangements on both sides. I followed the walkway to the gazebo that had more lights around it as well as flowers and standing in the middle of the gazebo was Torryn in an all-black suit next to a table with dinner.

"Daddy, what is all of this," I asked on the verge of tears.

"It's a date."

"I get that, but why the theatrics?"

"Can't I have a nice beautiful evening with my gorgeous, girlfriend and the mother of my children?"

"Okay, what's for dinner?"

"Your favorite, bacon cheeseburger with caramelized onions and sweet potato chips. Then for dessert oreo cheesecake."

Torryn pulled out my chair and helped me push it in. Then he sat down himself. I noticed that he was shaking slightly as he sat down. We dug into dinner and as I took a bite of my burger I couldn't help but moan and do a little dance in my seat. It was perfect. Torryn on the other hand was quiet for the most part and lost in thought.

"Penny for your thoughts?"

"I was just thinking about how lucky I am to have you."

"Aww, babe. I feel pretty lucky to have you too."

We spent the rest of dinner talking about my day and I told him about Elizabeth's apology. He was surprised that she had apologized. He had never heard her apologize before.

"I'm going to be right back. I need to go get dessert," Torryn said nervously.

For most of our dinner, Torryn seemed jumpy and nervous. At one point he took his napkin and wiped his brow. I wanted to ask him what was wrong but I just kept it to myself. So, I sat patiently while he went to go get dessert.

Torryn's POV

I know that she noticed that I was nervous. She was so observant, that she knew when I was upset and could get me to spill my guts with a single look. I went back inside and found Andrea, Mother, Anna, and Will.

"Hey, how's it going out there," Will asked.

"I don't know. I couldn't talk, I was sweating like a bloody pig. Now I'm about to go back out there and ask her to marry me," I said a little winded.

"Everything will be fine, boss," Anna started. "She's been hooked on you from the start. I should know, the woman tells me everything."

They're right, I can do this. I patted the pocket I had the ring in and headed back out. I walked back to the gazebo and found that she wasn't at the table. Logan was standing in the clearing between the trees staring up at the sky.

"Hey, love, what are you doing."

"Looking at the stars. The sky is so clear tonight and the stars look so bright and beautiful. Don't you think?" She asked.

"Yes, they do," I said as I got down on one knee and pulled out the ring box. "But they pale in comparison to you tonight."

"Hehe, you're sweet, baby."

Logan turned around and gasped with tears springing to her eyes.

"Torryn, what-"

"No, please. I remember the day we met at our parents' wedding. You were wearing this adorable lavender-colored flower girl dress. I couldn't help but feel like I should protect you. I wanted to but I stayed here while you and our parents went back to the states. Fast forward ten years my father's funeral and I saw you again and still had the same urge to protect you. Almost a year ago now, you came back into my life and you started stirring up feelings I thought were destroyed. I didn't see you as my stepsister because, in reality, you weren't that anymore. You were this beautiful, strong, fierce woman that didn't care what people said about you. Now I love you more than anything else besides our children, that I already love unconditionally. So, uh, what I'm, uh trying to say is, you, um, me marry? Mhm, will you marry me?" I finally got out.

My love had tears streaming down her face as she shook her head yes.

"Oh my gosh, yes. I will marry you!"

I stood and put the ring on her finger and hugged her.

"Everyone, come out, she said yes!"

Mother, Andrea, Will, and Anna came rushing out with huge smiles.

"Congratulations, you two. I told you she'd say yes, Torryn," William said clapping my back.

Now is the start to the beginning of the rest of our lives.
