Check out my friend's book! It's called "The geeks guide to world domination". She is the one this chapter is dedicated to :)

It didn't take Skylar long to return back to Kaitlyn's house. She headed straight upstairs, only to be stared at warily by Kaitlyn, as if she assumed she was going to burst into tears.

"How did it go?" Kaitlyn questioned slowly.

Skylar felt the small smile on her face grow into a grin. "Wonderfully."

"What exactly did you do?" She asked, pulling Sky down on the bed.

"We talked, and we finished the project." Skylar explained simply. "And then we kissed, and rainbows and stars danced over our heads, singing a very cheery song."

Kaitlyn smiled and laughed at how happy her friend was, and hugged her tightly. "I'm glad you guys made up." Although they both knew that Kaitlyn wasn't. Skylar was certain that her friend would be happy for her no matter what. It just might take longer for her to be happy about who she was with. Sure, Alex had made mistakes. But, people learned from mistakes. It didn't seem as if he was like that anymore. Maybe he had changed for Skylar. The very thought made her heart flutter.

They didn't continue on the subject, because Skylar was too happy to really talk about anything, and Kaitlyn was uneasy with the subject. So, instead they pulled out their textbooks and began to study for the upcoming test. They chatted about what they always chatted about. Weird things that the teachers had done that day, the horrible girls in the school that made fun of others, people they really didn't like, and some world events that they had learned about during the day. They talked about the amount of homework they always received, and after they were almost ready to go to bed, they talked about Lucas and Alex.

"Maybe I should ask Alex why Lucas doesn't like him." Skylar suggested as they stood in front of the bathroom mirror, taking off their make-up.

Kaitlyn shrugged. "Maybe. I could ask Lucas too, and we could see if their stories match up."

"That would be great, thanks. I'll have to wait until Alex asks me to go somewhere though. I don't really want to text him and seem like I had been waiting to forgive him after he apologized. I'm still not sure if I fully forgive him yet anyways." Skylar sighed and finished along with Kaitlyn.

"By the way he looks at you, I think you'll probably get a message by the morning." Kaitlyn teased, and the girls got into their beds and soon fell asleep.

Kaitlyn was right. When Skylar rolled over onto her side, and checked her phone, there was a message from Alex.

Meet me at the cafe. 12:00.

It read, making her smile. She knew what cafe it was. That was the first day she realized that she actually really liked Alex. It had been an emotionally exhausting day, and she remembered falling asleep next to him at the park. She had felt comfortable next to him, and the feeling suprised her.

It was 10:00am right now, so she still had two hours to get ready. Getting up, she tried not to wake the still-sleeping Kaitlyn. However, she was very tempted to get really clost to her ear and shout GOOD MORNING SUNSHINE. But she had done that once, and scared the living daylights out of her friend.

So, she left Kaitlyn alone and went into the bathroom to have a shower. After, she changed in there, she came out to see an awake Kaitlyn.

"Morning." They both said in unision, smiling a little.

Skylar began to do her make up in the mirror, while Kaitlyn went downstairs to get them both breakfast. When she returned, she was holding two plates with waffles, whipped cream, and strawberries on them. Skylar licked her lips and quickly grabbed her plate, blushing as Kaitlyn laughed.

"Possesive, much?" She teased as Sky took her first bite.

"Very." Skylar admitted after swallowing a mouthful of whipped cream.

"Heard anything from lover boy?" Kaitlyn asked, gesturing to Sky's phone on top of the dresser, before she sat cross-legged on the bed, setting her plate on her lap.

Skylar nodded and smiled a little. "He wants to meet at the cafe for lunch. I'd offer for you to come along, but..."

Kaitlyn laughed and shook her head. "But that would be extremely awkward." She finished for Skylar, starting on the mountain of waffle goodness on her plate.

"Yes." She agreed, finishing them a lot quicker than she probably should have. She got up and brushed her teeth before doing her make-up. By the time she had gotten outfit advice from Kaitlyn, and was sure she looked presentable, it was 11:40.

After saying goodbye, she walked out. The heat hit her as soon as she left Kaitlyn's house, and she quickly opened up all the doors to her car to get some cooler air in there. Once the seat was cool enough that it wouldn't burn her legs when she sat down, she closed all of the doors and tossed her purse inside, turning on the radio and singing as she pulled away from the curb and started driving to the cafe, with the AC on high.

She pulled up to the cafe, finding a parking space along the curb, and shutting off the car. Going into the cafe, she found the booth that they last sat in, and got in, glad it was empty. Turning on her phone, she checked the time, which said 11:45.

She ordered an iced tea, and soon the waitress brought it to her. It was a relief, as the heat was seeping through the walls, windows, and doors. She pressed the cup to the side of her head, glad her hair was in a bun so her hair was away from her face. She felt a pair of soft lips against her cheek, and turned her head, smiling at Alex. He kissed her lips before he sat down across from her, raising an eyebrow at the iced tea pressed to her head.

"It's hot out." She complained, grabbing the small teaser menu on the table and waving it like a fan.

He just chuckled and waved the waitress over, ordering an iced tea as well. "I have something to ask you." He told her, after the waitress had left.

"Oh, what's that?" She asked, pretty nervous about what he was going to ask.

He ran a hand through his hair and took a deep breath. "I realized this morning, that we haven't actually gone on a proper date." He began, licking his lips nervously. "So, I was wondering if you would like to go out with me tomorrow night."

"I'd love to." Skylar replied, a big smile on her face as she reached across the table and grabbed his hand, leaning forward and planting a kiss on his lips.
