Alex's P.O.V.
He watched Skylar lay down on the torn up couch in the room, pulling a blanket around her tightly. The room smelled awful and the furniture was so torn up it was basically in pieces. He sighed and looked at the bed, which looked way more comfortable than the couch.
Scooping Skylar up into his arms and ignoring her protests, he dropped her down onto the bed and walked into the living room, laying down on the couch, folding his arms beside his head like a pillow.
It wasn't long before he could hear Skylar snoring softly. It wasn't even a snore, it was more like she was just breathing heavily. Sitting up, he looked over at her.
She looks calm and vulnerable when she's sleeping. He thought, shaking his head as if to shake the thought away. If she woke up and saw him staring at her, she'd thinking he was some creeper. But, he couldn't sleep. Part of him had always wanted to leave, get out of the stupid town but something kept holding him back. The other part of him was being completely reasonable. Saying he didn't have enough money and he'd never make it.
He'd gotten a couple jobs, one of which was fixing up old buildings. Most of them were easy and quick so it wasn't like anyone knew about them. He wasn't sure if he wanted anyone to know about them.
When he had came here, he messed up and ended up in jail for a month, landing him the oh-so-famous bad boy title. It wasn't anything too serious, just assult. And the only reason he had assulted the guy was because the guy was going to make this girl go home with him, when it was obvious she wanted nothing to do with him. So Alex had stepped in and told him to get lost. He had said no and tried to get the girl but Alex had started punching him in the face repeatedly. Eventually the cops had come and he decided to leave the girl out of it. So, he'd gotten punished strictly for assult. Later, the girl had thanked him for not telling anyone because she didn't want her parents to find out she was drinking.
He had been to an endless amount of parties since then, trying to make up for lost time and pick up some girls. He'd always been the player but now everyone noticed it. Dating a girl and then dumping her was easy for him. After all, there was no reason to stay with someone you didn't love but there was also no reason he couldn't have some fun before he did break up with them. It wasn't like he was devoted to them and told them he loved them every second of the day. In fact, he stayed away for the most part, never saying I love you, just flirting and kissing. He wasn't trying to crush their hearts because they had gotten their hopes up, so he tried to make breaking up easier for both of them.
But he didn't get any credit for that.
Alex felt bad for hurting Skylar. It was always his intention to crush her, but he didn't want to do that anymore. He just wanted to show her reality. Show her that everything was not perfect. It may be in her world, but certainly not anybody elses. Just show her how to have some fun.
He sighed heavily and got up. Skylar was shivering on the bed because she had managed to kick the blanket off of herself and Alex picked it up, gently putting it back over her and tucking it around her. For a few minutes, he just stood there. Gently moving a strand of hair, that had fallen over her face, behind her ear, he opened the window in the other room and climbed out, sitting on the rather large windowsill.

Sky's P.O.V.
She groaned as she woke up, her head pounding relentlessly. She ran to the bathroom and threw up, laying on the bathroom floor and letting the cold, dirty tile, relax her. Wiping her mouth on the back of her hand, she fixed her hair in the mirror and went out to sit beside Alex.
"Hey." She said softly, letting her feet dangle. They were only a few feet of the ground and it wasn't like Skylar was afraid of heights, so she sat on the very edge of the windowsill, swinging her legs.
Alex seemed to look at her like he didn't understand her. He didn't really. Sky was determined to show him who she really was. Her parents would probably kill her for the party but honestly, she didn't care anymore. After what Alex said last night, it made her realize that she really is a kill joy. A complete princess.
After a while, when Alex didn't say anything, she dropped down from the window, landing on her feet. "Let's go somewhere besides here." She suggested and Alex just nodded, dropping down beside her.
"Where to?" He asked, pulling out a gum packet from the back pocket of his jeans, handing her some as if he knew she had only thrown up minutes ago.
"Somewhere." She answered, smiling at him mischeiviously and popping the gum into her mouth. "Bet I could beat you in a race to that beach." She pointed to a beach not too far from them.
"And what do I get if I win?" He asked curiously, raising an eyebrow a her as if he doubted her completely. She just smiled.
"You get to throw me in the water." She said, waggling her eyebrows at him. He just laughed. "And if I win, you have to spend the day eating ice cream with me."
"Deal?" She asked, holding out her hand and he shook it.
"Deal." They looked at each other for just a moment and as if counting in their heads together, they ran as fast as they could to the beach, right beside each other the whole time down the winding road. It didn't take long for Alex to push ahead of her, his feet hitting the sand right before hers.
Breathing heavily, they both collapsed onto the sand, trying desperately to catch their breath. After a long while, Alex looked over at her laying on the sand next to him, a wicked smile tugging at the corners of his lips.
"Oh shit." She whispered, before getting up and running away from him. She didn't have much left in her after their race, but she had enough. Kicking off her flats, she raced across the beach but he wasn't far behind her.
Alex grabbed her by the waist and draped her over his shoulder, feeling her kick and squeal.
"Let me go Alex!" She screamed, but her laughing made it completely okay for him to drop her into the warm water, so he did. It almost seemed like the water was hugging her as she smiled, letting it envelope her entire body.
Alex's P.O.V.
Her entire body relaxed when she was underwater so he let her stay there for awhile, just watching her come up and float contently on the surface of the water, her eyes closed. Eventually he scooped her up in his arms and carried her back to the beach, laying her down on the sand and siting beside her. The water lapping over their feet.
"Even though I won the bet........... I'm up for some ice cream." He said, looking at her and smiling widely. Her clothes clung to her body, revealing a figure that was normally hidden, her hair was soaked, falling freely around her shoulders in barely visible waves, her eyes sparkling.
She's beautiful.
He wouldn't even try to get that thought out of his head. She was absolutely gorgeous and he would do anything to have her laugh again.

Beautiful right? I love this story and I love updating it. Unfortunately I've been really busy so I haven't had the chance to update as soon as I would have liked. I know my chapters are short but hang in there! I'll try and update more often. Love ya guys.
