Chapter 20: The Date

Abbie’s P.O.V

“Shawn really? Is the blindfold necessary?” I asked, impatient as Shawn led me to who knows where.

“I told you it’s a surprise and I don’t want to ruin it,” He said sweetly in my ear. I huffed and continued walking.

We walked for what felt like 10 minutes before I spoke up again. “Shawn are we almost there? If I knew we were going to be doing this much walking I wouldn’t have worn heels!” I whined.

“You are just too adorable. Now stop right here.” I stopped where Shawn told me too and I felt his presence leave from beside me.  I was starting to get worried, not knowing what the heck this boy planned and I really just wanted to rip off the damn bandana, which I am pretty sure he stole from Taylor.

Then Shawn said the magical words I have been waiting to here, “Okay babe you can take the blindfold off.”

I yanked it off and let my eyes adjust to the sudden brightness. When I looked over to where Shawn was I could see a table set for two, candles and flowers on a empty hill with a beautiful view. I looked at Shawn who had a worried look on his face. I approached him and said, “Shawn I-“

“You don’t like it do you? Listen if you want we could-“

“Shawn listen. I love it okay? This is absolutely perfect. I honestly don’t care what we do as long as you are there with me.” Shawn smiled as wide as he could and hugged me. We leaned in and kissed each other while soft music start playing in the background. I broke the kiss and turned around to see Mahogany with a little turntable set up playing music and Sami and Clary standing there taking pictures. I gave them a look and they just smiled.

“Shall we sit?” Shawn asked pulling my chair out for me. I sat down and he pushed the chair in and sat across from me.

“Wow who knew you could be such a gentlemen,” I said teasingly, earning a blush from Shawn. I giggled and was about to say something when Cam, Nash, and Hayes approached us wearing the cutest little waiter outfits.

“Hi I’m Hayes.”

“I’m Cameron.”

“And I’m Hamilton and we will be your waiters on this fine evening.”

“Well don’t you guys just look adorable! How much did you have to pay them too dress in those?” I asked Shawn.

“Well actually Hayes offered and I agreed to let Nash ask Clary out on a date,” Shawn said.

“Oh and she said yes by the way!” Nash said cheekily.

“What did you get out of all this Cam?”

“Sami threatened me to do it. She said if I didn’t she wouldn’t kiss me for a week,” He said pouting.

Shawn and I both laughed while the boys set our food down in front of us. After they placed everything the way it was suppose to be they walked off somewhere. The girls were no where in sight either but they were probably close enough to take pictures and hear what was going on knowing them.

“Shawn I have to say this is absolutely incredible!”

“Well I did as best as I could knowing that you deserve the best there possibly could be,” He said. Now it was my turn to blush.

“I love you Shawn Peter Raul Mendes.”

“And I love you Abbie Dawn Daniels.”

The rest of the date went on perfectly with us enjoying the food and talking and laughing like idiots. When it started getting dark we thought it would be best for us to leave. “Shawn don’t you think we should clean this mess up?” I asked.

“Don’t worry Abbie we got it.” I turned around and Johnson and Gilinsky were standing there. “Just think of it as another way of apologizing,” Gilinsky said. I smiled and gave him a hug before joining back up with Shawn.

The ride back to the hotel was filled with a comfortable silence and I rested my head on Shawn’s shoulder and thought about everything that has happened these past few weeks and wondered how I got so damn lucky.
