"Ok, name one time that Ganondorf was aggressive in his entire stay here."

Zelda was in the meeting room yet again, wishing she was anywhere else.

How could they still doubt? Ganondorf wasn't half as bad as she had expected him to be before inviting him over, raised on stories of his bloodthirst, being the literal reincarnation of the one destined to seal him.

At this point, it was only sheer stubbornness and headstrong pride keeping them from accepting Ganondorf.

"You are correct in that Ganondorf is not yet... aggressive. But it's too early to tell."

"Then why are we having this meeting?" Zelda spread her hands.

"It looks like the best thing to do here is to simply wait and see." The Head of Military Forces stated. "However, I do wish you wouldn't trust him blindly."

Why were they repeating exactly the same view they had backed all these meetings? Had nothing changed for them, even after all these days? Zelda swallowed her frustration and tried to think clearly.

"I don't trust him blindly." She said calmly. "I am quite wary of him, actually. However, I don't treat him with blatant antagonism like you do. It's rather disrespectful, actually."

"Princess, we don't like him." The Head of Trade said rather despairingly. "It's that simple."

     "Why not?" Zelda asked simply.

"I-- Should think that would be obvious, Princess Zelda." He looked taken aback.

"You hate what he once was, but people are capable of change." She said with a faint smile dancing around her lips. "You have seen it, you have seen how hard he's trying to build peace for both his people and ours. And still you are working against him."

For once everyone at the meeting was silent.

"You are right, Princess." The Head of the Royal Guard admitted. "However, you must, must not forget his threat."

"I am not forgetting his threat to Hyrule." Zelda could hardly believe her ears. "You can rest assured that if he does, in fact, attack, then I'll be ready to face him."

     That... went surprisingly well.

Zelda thought to herself as she made her way to the Throne Room to take care of business. However, business was far from what she was focused on at the moment.

Were they possibly convinced? Just the notion of that made her want to jump.

When she first put her rather preposterous plan into action, she had expected everything other than them being convinced.

And now, were they at the verge of acceptance?

Almost out of habit at this point, she mentally raked through Aria's schedule and her own, and was satisfied knowing that she was currently in the middle of training. However, soon she would need to drag Ganondorf away from her.

     Again.

     Ugh.

A fleeting thought crossed her mind, that if she just told Ganondorf about Aria, who she was, and everything she had tried so hard to hide.. Wouldn't that make it so much easier? Otherwise, if he did find out sooner or later, he would have every right to accuse her of hiding the Hero.

She would not have anything to justify herself by.

Wasn't this whole thing about trust?
