"Look, I'm sure you're a very nice roommate, but I'm very particular about who lives in my house and you're just not the right fit," I turn around to see Meredith talking to another intern who I do not know. She was hanging up 'Roommates Wanted' signs on the noticeboard in the locker room. Huh, I could use a house to stay in. I stay in a cheap hotel in the ghetto where I fall asleep to the sound of sirens and steal snacks and expensive water bottles from the room's fridge every night. Also can't forget the yelling outside and the smell of some hard drugs, every single night. Having a place with Meredith wouldn't be too bad for me.
"Why do you put up posters for roommates if you don't even want roommates?" Izzie asks.
"I need a place to stay, plus I can cook. Please, I hate my hotel and you guys know by now I never ever say please," I beg while giving puppy dog eyes.
"I do want roommates, but we're together a hundred hours a week, you really want to live together too?" Meredith asks.
"Actually, yes I do," I say while glancing at the coffee in her hand. Suck up, she even brought Bailey a coffee today. Before I could say anything about that, Cristina beat me to it.
"Ooh, you're bringing bribes now? What's next, bringing a failed kidney? A lung transplant? Maybe even a leg amputation? " She asks, I just stand there while tying my shoes and I silently laugh to myself.
"I really need a place to live. My mom irons my scrubs for me. I have to get out of there." George says while pretty much begging Meredith too.
"It's not a bribe and I just don't think it's a good idea i'm sorry." Meredith argues.
"But I can put down last, first and deposit," George argues.
"It's totally a bribe," Cristina says while taking a sip of her own coffee.
"I can cook and bake, who doesn't like cupcakes? And I'm an obsessive cleaner, like really obsessive," Izzie says to Meredith while also using the puppy dog eye trick. She's right about the cleaning part, she wipes down these lockers every chance she gets.
"I can cook too! Please Meredith?" I beg.
"No. I just want two total strangers who I don't have to talk to, or be nice to, and it's not a bribe, it's only a mocha latte," Meredith declares.
Bailey walks in and starts demanding orders right away. "George, you're running the code team, Meredith and Rachel take the trauma patients, Cristina deliver the weekend labs to the patients, and Izzie you're on sutures," she tells us while crossing her arms and glaring at all of us.
"Dr Bailey. I was hoping to assist you in the OR today, maybe do a minor procedure? I think I'm ready for it. Mocha latte?" Meredith begs while extending her arm holding the mocha latte to Bailey.
"If she gets to cut, I want to cut too," Cristina says while chiming in.
"I'll even bring you two mocha lattes!" I tell Bailey. I look over at Cristina and she kisses her hand and then smacks her butt. If I have to be a kissass I will be, I need to operate. I could feel that I'm ready, I just know that I am.
"Yeah, me too," Izzie also chimes in and raises her hand.
"I wouldn't mind another shot Dr. Bailey, I mean if everybody else is," George can't finish what he's about to say before Bailey stops him.
"Stop talking everyone. Every intern wants to perform their first surgery, that's not your job though. Do you know what your job actually is? To make your resident happy. Do I look happy at the moment? No. I am very far from happy right now. Why? Because my interns are whining. You know what will make me look happy? Having the code team staffed, having the trauma patients answered, having the weekend labs delivered, and having someone down in the Pit, doing the sutures. No one holds a scalpel until I'm so happy I'm Mary freakin' Poppins and I fly away while holding on to an umbrella!" Bailey then takes the mocha latte from Meredith and walks out while taking a sip.
