Tonight was my first night in Meredith's house and to be completely honest, I'm not enjoying it as much as I thought I would at all. Usually, I love falling asleep to the sound of rain but Izzie needs to sleep with the windows open for "fresh air" so it's louder than it would normally be. Izzie is standing at the edge of the bed staring at me with her arms crossed.
"Come on, we're talking to Meredith," she huffs while pulling me out of bed. I roll over on my side to look at my phone on the nightstand and it's 4:30 in the morning. The sun isn't even up yet.
"Why, we're up all day just let me sleep please," I get my hand out of her grip and shove my face into the pillow. I just worked a 48 hour shift, we all did, she should understand of all people that I need my sleep, we all need our sleep. I'm too tired to argue so I throw a pillow at her face and roll out of bed to walk to Meredith's room..
Izzie walks across the hall to Meredith's room with me. "Meredith?" she whispers. No response other than a snore. Damn that woman snores loud. She snores like a train. "Meredith?" Izzie whispers again, this time shaking her a little bit. "Meredith!" she yells, but still no response. If I have to hear her yell one more time I'm gonna sleep on the street in the pouring rain. To make Izzie shut up, I grab Meredith's leg and pull her off the bed. The fall doesn't sound too hard so I don't feel bad.
"Ow, what was that for?" she asks while rubbing her butt and sitting back up on the bed slowly.
"Because Izzie has something to say to you and I'm sick of her whispering your name like an idiot" I huff.
"George's room is bigger than ours," Izzie complains. That's true, you think that if two people have to share a room, it would be bigger. Normally I would fight for this but it's not worth my energy I barely have at 4:30 in the morning.
"George claimed his room first, I'm not going to argue with him over it," Meredith says.
"But we have more clothes, we should get the bigger room right?" Izzie questions. Honestly, she's right but I just stand behind her too tired to say anything so I just nod my head repeatedly. Then, George walks in.
"I got here first," George whines.
"It's Meredith's house, she should decide," Izzie says, her and George going back and forth.
"My room is like, two inches bigger than yours!"
"You have a bigger closet!"
"Put your clothes somewhere else then!"
"Everywhere else is filled with Meredith's mom's stupid boxes."
"Meredith? When is your mom coming back to town anyway? Because maybe we can put her boxes in storage," George asks.
"Or unpack a few things, make this place a little more homey. Maybe some throw pillows and lamps, a few paintings," Izzie suggests
"Oh, paintings would be a nice touch."
"Yeah! You have all this amazing stuff just packed away in boxes. In the back hall, I found this box with like a hundred tapes of your mother performing these amazing medical procedures."
"Really? We should watch them. Meredith, you want to watch -" Meredith slams the door in their face before George could finish asking his question.
"That's it, I'm sleeping on the couch. I can't deal with Izzie right now," I mumble tiredly.
"Good, I don't want your cranky energy in my room anyway," Izzie scowls.
"No Rach it's fine, you can stay in my room tonight," George offers.
"No it's okay, I don't want to bother you George" I tell them.
"It's fine I promise, come on it's way more comfortable than the couch," George says. He does make a valid point.
