Losing My Religion

 After Denny's sudden surgery, Richard pulls all of us into the conference room to try and get us to confess to him. "I cut the LVAD wire," Izzie tells him.

"Actually, I cut the LVAD wire," Meredith says,

"No. I did it sir. I'm the one who cut the wire," George says.

"I guess I cut the wire," I sigh.

"Fine. I cut the wire," Cristina huffs.

"I didn't do anything. I'm totally innocent," Alex says.

"Alex!" Meredith yells at him.

"I wasn't even here. He knows that I wasn't here. You think he doesn't know that? The guys not mentally challenged," Alex says to us.

"That's not the point here. What about loyalty? We all made an agreement," George says.

"People! I know who did this. So, you might as well come clean now. I know," Richard tells us.

"With all due respect, sir, if you really knew, you wouldn't be here asking us," George says to him.

"You have your suspicions, but you don't actually know who did it" Meredith says.

"Not for sure," I say.

"Well, one of you compromised a patient's life. That's for sure. One of you stole an organ. That's also for sure. One of you jeopardized the integrity of this hospital and of UNOS. That's for damn sure. Now, you tell me who did it, and you tell me right now!" Richard yells at us. Nobody says anything though, we all stay silent and stare at him. "All right, fine. No surgeries for any of you."

"Sir?" Cristina asks him. This is not going to go over well with her, she's a total surgery addict.

"You all heard what I said. No surgeries. At all. No one gets too scrub in, no one is able to watch from the gallery, no one so much as goes near the OR floor. Until someone confesses, the six of you will share a single patient: Camille Travis. Whatever she wants, the five of you will provide it for her! Whatever she wants. Now get the hell out of my sight!" Richard yells at us. We all walk away from him.

"Wow, at least he didn't say we were fired," George says.

"He might as well have said that. No surgeries?" Cristina says.

"This wasn't even that bad. We got off pretty easy," Meredith says, trying not to make Izzie feel bad about the situation. Screw Izzie honestly, I'm not losing my job over something I wanted absolutely no part of.

"Yeah, for now anyway. You think this is over?" I ask them.

"You know, there's only three careers I've ever wanted. Ruler of my own planet, Wonder Woman, or a surgeon. And I don't see any invisible planes or extra countries laying around," Cristina says to us.

"Preach sister," I say.

"I will go back and tell him guys. I will tell him it was me," Izzie says.

"This is total crap. If she doesn't turn herself in, I'll do it for her," Alex says to us.

"Alex..." Meredith begins to say.

"What? You were the one who said we all had to stand by Izzie. But now I get stuck catering some VIP chick patient? I don't think so," Alex tells Meredith.

"Alex, I am so sorry and I really do appreciate what you did for Denny," Izzie says to him.

"Oh, just shut up. Look, the only reason I lied to Burke is because I wanted in on that awesome transplant surgery. I don't care about Denny and I personally hope you get thrown out of here on your ass," Alex tells Izzie.
