I walk into the hallway with Izzie to get ready in the bathroom for the day. George is in the hallway with three cups of coffee walking towards Meredith's room. As he opens her bedroom door he spills the three mugs of coffee all over him.

"Wouldn't it just be easier to ask her out already?" Izzie whispers so Meredith wouldn't overhear her. George just walks away while Meredith hits the snooze button on her alarm clock.

"She's gonna be late," George says while walking back over to us, clearly concerned for Meredith.

"Maybe not," I suggest.

"We should wait for her," George says while peeking his head through her door.

"Definitely not, we are not her mothers and you are not her boyfriend. Not yet anyway," Izzie says to George.

I nod, "Amen."

"Stop you guys. I told you I'm not interested in her," George says very unconvincingly.

"George life is short. Life could literally end in the blink of an eye. You can get hit by a bus tomorrow for god's sake. Do you really want to die before ever asking her out?" I ask him.

"I don't even want to ask her out," he denies.

Izzie rolls her eyes, "Do you really want to die a liar?"

"I'm not lying and I'm not dying," George says while shaking his head.

We rushed into the hospital since Meredith got ready late. Of course, we end up parking next to Derek which throws Meredith off guard even more than she already was. I don't dislike Derek, there's just something fishy happening with him. I just can't figure it out. As we run into the hospital all of us interns get pages from Bailey. We met her outside of room 2111 just like she requested us to. "When we walk in this door, you will maintain decorum. You will not laugh, vomit, or drop your jaw at all. Are we understood?" she asks us. What is she even talking about?

"Why would we laugh?" Izzie asks while twirling a piece of hair with her finger. I've noticed that's her nervous habit. I've picked up on everyone's nervous habit in the house. Izzie twirls her hair with her finger, George scrunches his nose a little bit, Meredith bites her thumb nail, and I bite my bottom lip.

"Oh, just you wait and see" Alex says while walking over to us.

We enter the room with Bailey, "Good morning Miss Connors."

"Good Morning," Miss Connors replies. Holy crap. I've never seen anything like this. This woman was laying in bed with a huge tumor sticking out of her. I mean extremely huge. I try not to stare because it's disrespectful but I can't help it. I've never seen anything like this before.

"What is that?" George asks with wide eyes. I also noticed he did his nose scrunch. I look around and all four of us are doing our nervous habits, not sure what to say to this lady.

"Tumor," Cristina replies just looking away from the lady.

Alex is the first one of us to speak to her, "Good morning, Annie. How are you today? This is Dr. Bailey and these are my fellow interns," he says while pointing at all of us introducing us to her. This is very weird of Alex, he would've cracked a joke by now and said something totally offensive. It's very weird.

"Dr. Karev, we refer to patients as "miss"..." Bailey says to him with an agitated and confused tone in her voice.

"I told him to call me Annie. Miss Connors made me feel old and fat. I mean I am both of those things, but why feel that way," she says. I smile slightly at her, still not really sure how to react. Then Dr. Burke enters the room.
