Someone Like You

Chapter 18

Zeniyah

Me, Alex, and Junior have been hanging out for hours now, I'm not sure where the boys went but Alex informed me that Giovanni dealt with my supervisor so I don't have work for the next month and a half. We're currently sitting in the living room watching Netflix but there are a bunch of things on my mind. I turn to Alex hoping she'll enlighten me a bit,

"Alex, can I ask you something please?" I say look at her to which she nods.

"Is what I heard right, were the boys actually beating that man, and they killed him?" I ask hoping she'll tell me no 

"Yeah Zeniyah," she says 

"So when I was warned to stay away from you guys this is probably what I was being warned about right?" I ask. She nods confirming my thoughts, I stay silent for a while before continuing. 

"Do you do that as well, I mean like kill people?" I ask slowly. She looks at me for a long time unsure how to answer I guess but that answer's my question enough. 

"I'm a trained assassin," she says finally. I nodded not knowing what else to do. I get up slowly from the couch careful not to hurt my bruised rib cage and lift Junior with me.

"Where are you going," Alex asks sadly looking at me with tears in her eyes 

"To the kitchen, I'm starving, I think I could eat a whole chicken," I say laughing while trying to brighten the mood. She stands up and helps me as we head to the kitchen. 

I decide to make some chicken tenders with fries since I've been craving them for a while. I find the chicken in the fridge that I took out of the freezer earlier and I tell Alex to grab a rolling pin and begin tenderizing it. I grab a bowl along with paprika, garlic powder, cajun seasoning, and oil to season the breasts. Then I grab my flour and season it the same way but with chili powder and salt. Lastly, I make my buttermilk coating with buttermilk an egg and more chili powder, and a little sugar. 

I heat up the oil and then begin showing Alex how to coat the chicken making sure to dip each into the coating twice for extra crispiness, I throw a pack of fries in an air fryer and begin making a seasoned mayo for the kitchen. I place that on the table along with ketchup, barbeque sauce, and buffalo sauce on the table. Once all the chicken is done and there's enough for everyone with leftovers I pile them on a plate and put them on the table along with fries. 

"Can you see in anyone's here for lunch?" I ask Alex and she says yes running upstairs

I grab one of the tenders that I put a little seasoning on, along with the fries, and put them on a plate cutting them into tiny pieces, I also put organic orange juice in a bottle for Junior, and sit down at the table. Alex comes back down saying that Sandro and Tony are going to shower quickly but no one knows where Giovanni is. I grab about 6 of the tenders and some fries putting them aside for him to eat when he returns. 

Alex decides she wants to feed Junior so I sit beside them and pour myself fruit juice then begin eating, once the boys come racing down.

"OH MY FUCKING GOD," Tony says moaning out "I get it now, I get why everyone loves you so much, these are the bomb," he says making me laugh. 

"She has emotions," he gasps making me giggle again and suddenly the room begins to buzz with conversation. I introduce myself to Tony telling him how I met Sandro and about the second time I came here making him slap the back on Sandro's head and promise me he'll slap Giovanni for me. 

"Um, do you, boys, by any chance know where Giovanni is?" I ask as casually as possible. 

"Ouuuu someones has a crushhh," Tony drags teasingly making me blush.
