Chapter 36

Zeniyah

"WHY!!" I yell in pain wriggling around while screaming and crying in agony

"I've been wanting to fuck you and make a pretty penny off of you for a while now, your stupid brother refused to listen no matter how many times I told him I'd kill I'm if he intervened," he says casually.

"Kill me," I yell out in pain slamming my head on to wall repeatedly 

"Stop it, I cant sell damaged goods," he says slamming the side of my head with the back of his pistol and just like that, I'm out. 

*Flashback over*

There he is, in front of me after all these years, I stood there unable to process this. 

"Zeniyah," he says again stepping forward, snapping me out of my trance

"Don't you fucking dare Dante," I say stepping back 

"Niyah...h-how do you know him?" Alex says unsurely

"Oh we go way back, don't we love?" he says smirking. Suddenly Giovanni and Tony come running probably since we haven't said anything into the earpiece for a while. He turns to look at them and I quickly reach down grabbing the knife strapped on my ankle and holding it behind me since the gun wouldn't slip out of the holster. 

"WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON," Giovanni yells seeing the blood on the terrace near Alex's leg. 

"Seems like we're having a reunion," he says smiling. Giovanni reaches for his belt to grab a gun but he's faster, he pulls out his own pointing it at Alex, 

"Move and she dies," he says menacingly to Tony and Giovanni who both raise their hands in surrender. 

"So tell me my dear Zeniyah how'd you end up here in Italy with my beautiful cousin Alex," he says smiling at me making me shiver in disgust. 

"Wait how does he know your name?" Tony asks

"We go way back? Don't we Z, why don't you tell them?" he says making me grimace 

"You TRAITOR!" Giovanni yells at me making my eyes widen. 

"No it's not what you think," I say quickly 

"Oh not at all dear cousin as much and I wish it was, see Zeniyah here was supposed to be my best selling item a couple of years ago but she managed to slip through my fingers," he says making everyone's eyes widen in shock

"Shocking I know right," he says amused

"Oh Z, just in case you're confused, I'm their cousin," he continues saying 

"Is this true, D-Dante's your cousin?" I ask looking at Tony, Giovanni, and Alex

"Niyah, his name's Marco," Alex says making my eyes widen further. This is the man we were coming here today to kill, this is the man whose father kidnapped Giovanni as a child and put him through hell. This is the same man who kidnapped me from my family and killed my twin brother for trying to save me. 

"Well I'm alive Marco, so how do you plan to be Capo now?" Giovanni says drawing his attention. 

"You're alive...for now," he sneers in response. While he argues with Giovanni, I slide against the railing trying to get as close to him as possible, 

"I'm going to kill Alex, Tony, Sandro, and everyone you love. Then I'm going to finish what I started with Zeniyah while you watch," he says right as he finishes his sentence I place the gun under his chin dragging it, making sure to dig the knife as deeply as possible. He begins to splutter and cough, he drops the gun and releases Alex placing his hand on his neck to try to stop the bleeding. He spins around to face me, I try moving away but he grabs my hair pulling me back, he places his hands around my neck squeezing tightly. I claw at his fingers trying to free myself.  I hear a gunshot go off and screaming before Dante goes limp collapsing in front of me. 

Suddenly time is frozen, Sandro bursts into the room covered in blood and looks at me in shock, everyone's staring at me with their mouth open, I look at myself wondering what's wrong I see blood running down my arm from an open wound. Then the pain hits me, tears gather in my eyes as I look at the wound. 

"Help, Vanni," is the last thing I remember saying before I collapse.

Giovanni

"Help, Vanni," she whispers before falling making me rush towards her

"Niyah, Niyah stay with me come on," I say tapping her face to keep her conscious 

"CALL AN AMBULANCE," I yell scooping her into my arms. 

"NOW" I yell. 

"Giovanni the ambulance cant come here it's unnamed Capo territory," Tony says. I snap out of it lifting her in my arms and rushing down the stairs, walking into the ballroom I see the massacre my man left behind, we had to get rid of anyone that may be in support of Marco and his men. There are tons of bloody bodies and unattached heads leaking blood all over the floor. 

We rush out to my car and I climb in holding Niyah in my lap while Tony drives. He speeds down the road heading towards the nearest hospital while I try to press my hand against her wound. She's bleeding so much, tears gather in my eyes as her blood keeps flowing drenching my hands and shirt. 

When we get to the hospital I rush in calling for a doctor. They take her placing her on a bed before rushing her in for surgery to remove the bullet. Alex and Sandro get there soon after and they sit in silence while I pace the floor frantically. 

"Gio did you know? About her past with Marco?" Alex says 

"Do you think I fucking knew?!" I yell, making her flinch I immediately feel bad but for some reason, I can't control the rage coursing through my veins, I turn slamming my fist through a wall making people around me gasp. 

"GIOVANNI," Sandro yells making me spin around to look at him but he doesn't falter. 

"Either you calm the fuck down, or leave," he says. My chest begins rising and falling rapidly as I try to catch my breath and suddenly I break down in tears sliding down the wall. 

"I- I swore to myself I'd never let his family hurt ours again after what they did to me, mama, and papa," I say crying and holding my head. Alex comes and sits beside me holding me and whispering it's ok. 

The doctor comes out soon interrupting us, 

"Sir are you here with the woman in surgery?" he asks

"Yeah," we say standing up

"We have some bad news," he says making my heart drop.
