Chapter 66

Damn it all ! Why couldn't I just be a man about it, tell her.

Chan's pov~

There was already too many things on my plate. I needed to figure out why my slimy cousin was in town. I couldn't get my mind off what was said to me by the lawyer. And what I promised.

The days wasn't going to slow down or stop for me. Just because I wanted to. I had to have an serious talk with Sierra. Have her see the benefits of being with me would bring her. Plus Aya needed a stable family. She could only get that if we were to marry. She'd have the best of everything.

But all I had to do was convince her mother. Why was so hard to do ?

I tried calling but the conversation always end up being about Aya. Or something else of matter. Didn't know if I was scared of her reaction or the answer ?

This matter was getting to me so much that it was effecting my work life. I made mistakes but thankfully it was on an larger scale. And when I saw her on  Tuesday, realized she was here earlier than usual.

I went over to her before she would move on. Or I was called off to the next surgery. Because I had a few scheduled today.

I called out to her, she turned to see me looking relieved. In which gave me an push to say what I needed to say to her.

I started off with an " Hello. How are you doing ? "

We talked about the weather, Aya. And just as I was about to ask her out to dinner to talk about our future together.

My work pager went off. I gave an silent " Fuck " in my mind. Then my next real words got stuck as the pager kept going on and on with it's constant seemly buzzing noise.

" I have to go, " I told her, walked off because I had to get to the other side of hospital in like five minutes.

I finished up all my duties. And as I walked in my office, took a seat. Upon sighing, the phone rang. I hesitated to answer it. But eventually picked it up....

" Hello ? " I asked tiredly holding the phone close to the side of my face.

Once again it was the family's lawyer. Probably calling as he did often to remind of what I should begin to do.

" Chan ? I know you don't want to be reminded of this. But you should be informed. "

" Yes I know. I will be getting it done by tonight, " I responded.

And he went on to tell me of things I had to do again. That made me rub my forehead. By the time we finished the phone call. I felt more tired than when I first sat down.

I then start to think of the different scenes that could play out when I break the news to her. But I had to get this done, soon.

Even if I had to go about it an mean or threatening way.

I left my office in search of her. Not realizing that it was early morning. I wasn't paying attention to the time of day or looking out the window. I could either be the stress of the work day / night. Or things going on in my life.

As I remembered that she could've be here this early. But I was truly in need of some food and maybe a coffee.

When I was nearing the small cafe. Where I was going to get breakfast. I noticed a man pushing another man coming between a woman. The two men exchanged a few more words. The one walk away he looked like Ramil. But the woman looked like Sierra.

What the hell ? Why was Ramil here of all places ? I was caught in a crossroads. I wanted to go after Ramil but who was the male talking to Sierra. And when I turned to see which direction they were headed to confront. They were gone.

But I turned back I spotted Ramil, went to confront him first.

I will be getting my answers to what was truly going on.

Sierra's pov~

" Are you okay Sierra ? " the man asked then turning for me to get an better view of who was the mysterious guy was.

" Micheal Turnage ? Oh my GOD ! " I exclaimed.

" Yeah. Is this guy bothering you ? "
Then I looked over at the Ramil guy, said " Yes. But what are you doing here ? Is something going on with Tianna ? She's pregnant right ? "

" I should hope she's alright. But I'm here to speak with you, " he said.

" Hello I am still here. And who are you to Sierra, " Ramil interjected coming over to me is what I was guessing but Micheal pushed him back.

" She said she was bothered by you. So couldn't you please leave now. Or I'll give you an reason to leave immediately, " Micheal said staring him, Ramil bagged back with his hands up as to surrender.

Then Micheal guided me to an place we could talk. As I wondered what this could be about. Thankfully my headache was calming down.

We went around the corner to a halfway, straight ahead to an side entrance, proceeded to go outside.

" She WHAT ?! But why ? " I was shocked by the words I just heard.

" So have you seen her. Has she contacted you ? " he asked truly looking desperate to know where she was.

I felt bad for him. But I really haven't spoken to her since that damn charity event almost two weeks ago.

" I haven't seen her. I just  exchange contacts with her that night, didn't get a chance to even use it. You know what happened that night, " I told him then looking down because I was embarrassed of what transpired that time.

" That was around the time she went missing. I've been trying to make use of all revenues to find her. Then I thought about you, had to check. Knowing that it would be an slim chance that she'd be with you. But I had to try, " he explained.

" I'm sorry, " was all I could say.

I had to help in some way. Or at least try. The guy looked like he was at his wits ends.
