chapter 42

It was my time to shine since I've been left in the dark, pushed to the side for practically all my life.

Ramil's pov~

These fools didn't know what was coming to them. Trying to block me on every decision I made for the company. I was in charge, these fat saps should listen. They were all so wary, I knew business. I didn't just use the family name to party, gain access to things, just because I could.

Well scratch that, I did do it sometimes. But at least I contribute to the company not like my other cousins, who I strongly agree did nothing.

" Look Terb, I want you to check out the proposal, tell me what you think, " I told the guy from sales who looked at me with suspicion, contempt ever since I came here to sit at the top of the company.

But I had my own plan for him if, when he would get on my bad side. Plus it would hurt my precious cousin. It'll tear her to pieces. She thought no one knew about how she was letting someone beneath her cuddle up next to her. I guess now that ol' Gramps is gone they could be together. I walked in on them a couple times, even when he was face timing her recently. And let's just say, them being so happy, him asking her when is she was coming home. It disgusted me to hear, also made me furious because my plans would be ruined.

And the fool finally picked up the flash drive, took one last look at me, left the room.

Which only made all the more set in my plans. That fool, all the rest didn't know what was ahead but they'll soon find out.

But first I needed to call up my favorite brothel, have them send me some good girls. So I can relax, have fun with. But lately I been fantasizing about a certain girl, wished she were here to relieve this ache in my pants that suddenly sprung to life, while just the thought of her past through my mind.

Sierra's pov~

I woke up with a spine chilling awareness that I couldn't explain. For a long time now, I've been having weird dreams since before the family reunion. But this one had me scared out of my mind. It had me reeling from the pure fear that I experienced.

It had me rushing to my baby's room to check on her. Then when I knew she was alright, I then went on to check on my parents for security measures. To put my fears aside so I could rest easy by seeing them. And to remind myself that it was only a damn dream, none of it were real.

But before I could think about going back to sleep. I needed to quench my thirst because my mouth was dry as the desert right now. So I headed downstairs to the kitchen.

In the kitchen now, I opened the fridge, took the water pitcher that we used to keep our water cool. It was old fashioned even though we had a water dispenser on the fridge but it was always the way that I liked it.

Grabbing a glass off the rack, pour the ice cold liquid in, brought it up to my mouth. It felt heavenly as I quickly guzzled it down. Then I took a seat at the island in the middle of the kitchen.

As I sat there, I thought on everything that happened this week. And there were two that stood out to me. First Chan asking me to come to this charity event that hospital was hosting. Second, when I came home that night, Aya was waiting by the door for me, jumped in my arms saying.

" Can we go with my dad again. I mean can we go somewhere, it will the three of us, I can't forget auntie, we can't leave her out, " she squealed hugging my neck.

But I didn't answer her. I told her I was tired, put her down, headed upstairs to the disappointed stares of my parents. But it might just be me because I tend to misinterpret things from time to time.

As I was lost in thought, walking back to my room. I heard my phone ringing, I opened my door, saw it light up on my nightstand. I sat on my bed, picked it up, saw who was calling.

Chan....why was he calling this time of the night ? It's almost 2:30 am.

Then it stopped for seconds then it started back up again. I didn't want to answer it but I did anyway.

" Hello ? "

" Sierra ? " Chan spoke in hush tones. Like he didn't want whoever to what he was saying or even doing.

" Yeah, why are you calling me at this time of night ? " I asked.

" I couldn't wait anymore, had to get your answer to the question asked you, Sorry, " He replied then I rush of voices on the other end of the phone that had me asking.

" What was that ? Where are you Chan ? "

" I'm still at the hospital. I was called in because they needed my expertise in the emergency room tonight, " he explained sounding all so confident.

" Okay, I hope your contribution was appreciated. "

" It was, I mean it is, seeing as I haven't been told I could leave yet but I feel things are winding down around here. But could you please answer me so I won't feel stupid for calling. "

I didn't know what to say. I knew this would make Aya happy, I did need a distraction from that dream I had earlier, other things in my life.

" Okay I'll go but only to the family event. I don't think I'll be going to the evening event. "

" Okay, I can live with that, " he said sounding less enthusiastic than I thought he would.

" Bye Chan. "

" Bye Sierra, " he spoke into the phone, suddenly I heard the dial tone. Then I put my phone back on nightstand, laid down, pulled the blanket over me, started back to sleep.

The next morning, while eating breakfast. I gave Aya the news.

" We're going to do something together. Your dad called me asked, so it's all set. "

I could barely explain it, the way she reacted but I pulled it together. She lit up like a Christmas tree, dance around the table having my parents and I laughing.

And when we all calmed down. Aya rushed me, jumped on me. Giving me hugs and kisses.

" Thank you mommy !!!, " she exclaimed.
