Chapter 25

" Dad ?! "

" Hey Sie Sie, it's been awhile has it. "

Then Chan took this moment to get up off the ground. And he wasn't too happy and feeling quite embarrassed too.

" You're the same bastard that left his family high and dry, " Chan laughed because he felt this was truly ironic.

" What did you say ? Do you wanna get knocked down again ?!" my dad responded.

" I am just stating the facts, I could sue and you would be left with nothing. "

" The reply of someone that's scared cause I'm not letting you touch my daughter or grand daughter again ! "

" Well I'll hold you to that statement but it's never gonna happen. And one other thing am just holding back because you're my wife's father !" Chan said going around to the car driver's side.

" Is that true ?  You're married ?" my father asked me.

" No ! Hell no, " I said finally getting Aya out of the back seat his car.

When I closed the car door I heard Chan say, " This isn't over Sierra, " as he sped off.

At that same moment, my mom choose to come outside asking...

" What's going on ? " she said then noticing me. " Sierra you're early, " with a surprised look on her face.

" So this is what you've been keeping from me all this time !" I yelled because this was crazy.

She could've let me know, I mean why did she have to hide this from me. What she thought I would be upset ?

Hell I am upset ! It's seems like everyone around me is doing this shit. And I am tired.

I wanted get away from the both them. So I immediately sped walked into the house with Aya still in my arms. And continued upstairs to my room putting down Aya, sitting down also on my bed.

Laying back, everything that happened today just kept playing over and over in my head. Then I began to cry, my head started to hurt.

Suddenly I felt a small hand pat me on the arm. But I couldn't get up just yet so I just continued to lie there.

Then I heard the most frightening thing a child could ever say.

" What was that bad man doing to mommy. I don't want him to do that to mommy. I don't want to ever see him again, " Aya sobbed shaking me to get my attention.

Slowly getting up, wrapping my arms around her. Then promising her that nothing's gonna happen to me.

30 mins later »

Laying beside, patting the back of a sleeping Aya. I heard a knock on my room door.

" Come in. "

Then the door knob turned, the door slowly open. There stood my mother with watery eyes, looking so scared.

But why ?

" Sierra we need to talk, can you please hear me out. "

" Seems like everyone wants to today, " I whispered under breath.

" I didn't catch that. "

" It was nothing, let's take this somewhere else cause I don't wanna wake up Aya. "

In the kitchen »

As we sit at the table, quietly there cause neither one of us made the first move to say anything yet.

So I took it upon myself to break this agonizing silence besides our breathing.

" Where did he go ? " I asked.

Taking a sec to catch on, " Oh you mean you're father, " she replied.

" Yeah him. "

" Um yes, he went home already. "

" Okay mom let's get down to business. Tell me why you kept me in the dark about Dad ? "

" I'm so sorry Sierra, " my mother cried, letting one tear drop slide her cheek.

" Why are you sorry for ? He's the one that left us in the first place. I just really want to know why you felt you had to hide it from me. I wasn't gonna be too upset with you. It's your life. "

" But I did wanna tell but we had an agreement that we were gonna wait awhile before telling you. "

" So how long have y'all been together ? "

" Just a little before we went to the family reunion. "

" And how did y'all meet again ? "

" Well his cousin came to the store I work at, We start talking about the old days. And I asked about your father, we exchanged numbers. Then a week later your Dad called. We've been talking, meeting each other since then, " my mom smiled.

Wow ! She looks truly happy. Who was I to break this wonderful mood she was in.

" Sorry mom you don't have to say anything else. And I'm not mad at you, " I told her.

Then she took the moment to get up, come around the table to me. And she hugged me, I was glad things were looking up for her.

But what about me ? Why was things so messed up for me right now.

Then it hit it me, I totally forgot all those groceries in Chan's backseat. And I wondered why I chose now to remember.

So I began to laughed out loud.

" Sierra what's wrong ? "

After I finished laughing, I began to cry. Then I unloaded everything on my mom.

And when I was done she had a cross between stunned and she wanted to murder somebody look upon her face.

Oh god, did I really just tell my secrets to someone.....

I felt relief but at the same time, I felt super ashamed. I just hoped that she would understand.

" Mom ?! "

" We need to get a lawyer. "

But would that really help......
