Sorry for the slow updates. I've been busy with a lot of things. And thanks to all who's reading this story tho. 😆

Alright here it goes !

Chan's pov~

Reluctantly taking my phone from my lab coat. Cause it's been buzzing for awhile now...

My irritation was peaked until I looked at the screen. Multiple notifications from my line account. They were all from Nan ( his sister's Nanmon name shorten )

Nan~ so ~ hot ❤-  P' call me it's really important

Nan~ so ~ hot ❤- please Chan We really need to talk

Nan~ so ~ hot ❤- look I know you're busy but can you spare some time for your sister. It's a family emergency.

Nan~ so ~ hot ❤- P'  Grandfather has died, your needed back for the funeral.

Author's note: this is supposed to be in Thai. But I don't know the written language but let's just pretend OK 😉

Then I noticed there were also twelve missed calls.

So the old bastard finally died.

I can't say that I felt sad or anything but what I was feeling....

Was it relief ?

No it couldn't be....

Well I guess am headed back home.

This news really threw an wrench in my plans.

I'll have one of my men watch for her now....

Sierra's pov ~

" Hi, I'm glad I could save you before you smacked the floor, " Sam smirked holding me close, a little too close for my comfort.

" Um thanks, " I replied.

" Your very welcome, " he grinned his bright smile could've lit up any darken room.

But why am I seeing him in this light, we're just friends and nothing more.

I just have to keep that in mind...

" Why so silent ? Are you okay ? Let's get you back over to the bed. Why were you up anyways ? " he asked truly concerned for my well being as he helped back in bed.

" Oh, I was looking for my phone but I can't seem to find it anywhere, " I explained settling myself back in a position I was comfortable with.

" Why didn't you ask a nurse for help ? You could've been in a bad way if I didn't come when I did, " he said.

I could tell this upset him a lot by the look on his face.

" I'm sorry if I worried you but I needed my phone for something urgent so..... " I told him but was cut off.

" What's so important ? Huh ? That you would jeopardize your health for ? " he spoke but this time with a tinge of anger.

" I'm ..... " I started to say but thought the rest.

Should I tell him ?
Or anyone else that am gonna start putting in apps for a transfer. Cause lord knows I definitely can't continue to work at this hospital anymore.

Especially with him working here. I can't bare to see his face on a daily basis.

And what's with Sam speaking to me that way.....

" You were saying ? Hello earth to Sierra, are you listening ? " he said while snapping his fingers in front of my face.

In that next moment, My mother walked in with Aya at her side. And my lil one instantly ran over to me throwing her arms around me.

" Mommy, Mommy ! I missed you so much ! " she cried climbing in bed with me.

" I missed you too baby, " I squealed kissing her cheeks.

" How are you ? " my mom asked.

" I'm doing better, " I told her knowing that was a lie.

And my mind was kinda elsewhere still wondering whatever happened to my phone. Because I know before I went to bed it was still there on the bed side table.

" Well Sierra, I have to head back to work, I'll talk to you later, " Sam chimed in with a brief smile as he headed out the room.

" Okay see ya, " I said dodging looks my mom was giving me. This woman was so nosy.

" Who was that Sierra ? " she asked staring at me like she just met her son in law or something.

" He's a friend that's works in my department, that's it so don't go assuming, " I explained as she took a seat in a near by chair.

" So when are you being discharged ? " she asked changing the subject.

And I am glad for that.
I didn't need her prying
We all have things that we need to handle ourselves, right.

" I'm hoping tomorrow, cause I have so much to do, " I tell her casting my face down on top of Aya's head stroking her hair.

" What's wrong Sierra ? " she asked with motherly concerned.

" It's nothing, " I replied feeling my chest constrict as I held my baby girl tighter, causing her to squirm.

" Mommy ? I can't breathe, " Aya said as I loosen my hold.

" Oh I am so sorry baby, Mommy didn't mean to, " I told her rubbing the small of her back.

" No Sierra! It is not nothing. You almost squeeze the life out of her, " my mother spoke sternly.

" Quit exaggerating, I'm just tired of being cooped up in the hospital plus I miss being home with you guys, " I sighed trying my best to hold back the tears.

I could handle my own issues

I really need to think of something to change the subject.

But Aya beat me to it by saying....

" G- ma I want some ice cream, " cheerfully grinning and me thinking that my baby's so smart, she can read me well.

" Okay pumpkin, which kind would you like me to get you ? " she asked Aya getting up from her chair and grabbing her purse.

" Um... strawberry and chocolate ! " she giggled having us both smiling.

" Alright then, I'll be back soon, " she waved at us as she left the room.

Then Aya asked the thing I was dreading to answer....

" Where is my daddy ? Why isn't he here with us ?
