I hope gave comfort to Micheal. Hopefully it was step in the right direction....
Sierra's pov~After talking about different scenarios that could've happen. And smoothing thing over so we'd both think rational. Micheal went on his way with an renewed strength to keep going.
I breathe an sigh of frustration when he walked away, out of ear shot of course. And sat down on the nearest bench to relax. I closed my eyes then opened them to the emotion filled face of Chan.
Oh god ! What did he want right now ? This wasn't my day.
" Why are looking at me that way ? " I asked him wiping my hand across my forehead.
" First. Why were you talking to Ramil ? And second why were you talking my friend Micheal that you only just met at the Charity event ? " he asked his own set of questions before sitting down next to me on the bench.
" What ? I don't know that guy. He keeps showing up like someone else I know. Second Michael's fiance is missing, he asked me if I knew anything about it. So what's with the third degree. I don't have time to talk. I'm leaving, " I finished, got up to walk away but was stopped by Chan taking my hand.
And it didn't stop at that. He began to lead me somewhere.
" What are you doing ? Let me go ! "
" No. I need to talk to you in my office, " was all he said as we boarded the nearest employee elevator.
.................
Once inside, I watched as he sat down. I didn't want to but my head responded with pain, a small bout of dizziness. Then I sat in the chair in front of his desk.
" Well that's first. I didn't have to tell you...." Chan was saying before I cut him off.
" What are you even talking about ? And why have I been brought here ? " I asked truly wanting this meeting to be over with. So I could go back to my department, take off to use one of my sick days. But I knew it probably wouldn't work because I used up most of them already.
" To talk about of our future " Chan replied looking at me straight in the eyes.
...............
Chan's pov ~
" To talk about of our future " I said staring her down.
" What ? Not this again, " Sierra responded by massaging her two fingers between her forehead and bridge of her nose.
" Marriage is the only solution to gave Aya a safe and secure home. She needs both of her parents together. She needs a family, " I explained.
" She has a family. There's my parents and I. And the rest of my extended family. "
" I don't want to be an weekend parent. And Aya deserves to have the best of the best. I could do that for her Sierra. "
" Chan having more doesn't equal happiness. We were doing fine before you came into the picture. "
" That's true. But I'm here now, I want to make up for it. Please Sierra listen to reason. It's for the best. For both of you. Understand. "
" I can take care of my child. And I can for DAMN sure take care of myself ! " she exclaimed.
" I'm not saying you can't. But if I put my cards all down on the table. You'll have plenty of time to just be taking care of yourself, " I informed her because her little outburst angered me.
" What do you mean by that ? " she asked.
" By taking full custody of Aya as a result. I don't want to go as far as that. But you'd leave me no choice, " I said putting the last nail coffin with my choice words. Going by how shocked Sierra looked. It went from pure shock to molten anger.
" Hell no ! You are NOT taking my baby away from me ! It won't happen ! " she yelled as she got up from her seat.
" We'll see. " was all I said.
" We'll see ? Have you forgotten what you've done to me ? How Aya was conceived ?! " she screeched before turning around to leave.
" Do you really think you can go up against me in court Sierra ? "
Her turning around to face me " I'll damn well try it. Because it could rule in my favor, " she replied with a small smirk on her face.
" I would have the best of lawyers. When you at best could get an mediocre one fresh out of college. I'll give you a week to come to your senses. To see and know this will be the best decision for the both of you. "
" BASTARD. I knew I shouldn't have even trusted you a little. Meeting you was an huge mistake, " she said before leaving the room, slamming the door behind her.
............
Later on that night, driving in the early morning hours on my way home. To get some much needed rest.
I got to my home rather quickly. Went inside, headed straight to my bedroom's bathroom to take a shower.
After finishing I felt the weight of my conversation with Sierra hang over me as I climbed into bed.
I tossed and turned causing me to not fall to sleep immediately. I know my choice of words were pretty harsh. It couldn't be helped. I was running out of time.
As I finally got into a comfortable position. An alarm went off, I jumped out of bed, raced downstairs to my study in time to see a person dressed in all black.
They were trying force open my safe open that I thought I had hidden well behind an built in shelf with a espresso/coffee. That person was still down at the safe's level still trying to break into it. All while the alarm was blaring on.
" Who are you ?! And what do you think you're doing ?! " I asked announcing my presence. In which caused the hooded masked figure to turn around. But I didn't give him enough time to access his situation before I grappled him down to the ground.
He put up a fight. Strong one at that. We fought, I got some hits in before he force kicked me, got out the sliding glass door.
I slowly got off the floor, holding my stomach. Looked around the room to access things. Thankfully they couldn't get my safe open. So that was one good thing.
As I took a seat in one of chair in my study. And I thought to myself that intruder seemed familiar.
Thinking all those things and more. When my sister came rushing in the room.
I know I took so long to bring this update. Hopefully I can get another one or two out before this year is over.
