Chapter 9

"No,No,NO!" I scream over and over again but they won't stop torching me. My dad,Rue, Finnick, Cato and Clove.

"alright! that's enough, you can all go now." someone says. They all glare at me one last time before they leave, leaving me with bruises and me bleeding. I see someone step out of the shadows and it's.... PRESIDENT SNOW! "hello Katniss. thought you killed me didn't you. well guess what i'm here and so is someone else." Someone else steps out of the shadows and I gasp. It's Peeta.

"Peeta! Help me!" I scream. They both laugh.

"don't worry Katniss I will help you." Peeta says. He walks over to me and pulls a knife out of his pocket."bye-bye Katniss." Then the knife goes in me.

I wake up screaming. Sweat covering my face. My heart is beating a million times a second. I roll over on the bed and fall on the floor. I curl up into a ball and cry softly. Why couldn't Peeta believe me, trust me and be here right now scaring the nightmares away. I thought he would have trusted me. I cry for another 10 minutes before I stand up and see that it's 6:50am. I grab some jeans and head into the bathroom. I start the shower, take off Peeta's shirt and get into the shower.

I grab the bottle of shampoo, squirt some in my hand and rub it into my hair. Once I felt that I had rubbed it in enough I put my head under the water and rinsed out the shampoo. Then I grab the bar of soap, wash up and rinse off. I shut off the water and stick my hand on the ground looking for my towel. When I felt it I step out of the shower and dry off. I waste no time getting dressed in Peeta's shirt and some jeans and braid my hair down my back. I walk downstairs and don't smell freshly baked bread like I usually did every morning. I sigh. It feels so much emptier in here. I can't take it. I run out the back door and into the woods. I grab my bow and arrow out of it's hiding stop and head out to find some prey.

Peeta's POV

"PEETA!" Delly yells as she runs up to me. She wraps her arms around me and I wrap my arms around her. "Peeta i'm so happy your here, but i'm also sorry for what happened with you a.." I cut her off.

"Delly i'm happy to see you to and what happens happens for a reason." She steps back and looks at me.

"I know Peeta, I just want you to be happy." she says.

"I am happy. I found out right at the start and I get to spend time with my best friend Delly." She smiles at me and I smile back.

"let's get going."

"ok, lead the way." I tell her. She smiles again and starts walking. I pick up my suitcase and start walking. We walk for about 10 minutes before she stops. 

"were here." she says. We walk up the porch steps and into the house. "let me show you where your room is." I follow her upstairs and into the second door on the right.

"thanks Delly, for letting me stay here." I say.

"what are friends for." she smiles and I smile back. "I'll let you get unpacked." She leaves the room and walks downstairs. I unpack my suitcase and walk downstairs.

"Delly I'm going for a walk!" I call from the front door.

"ok be back in an hour for dinner!" she calls back. I walk out the door and head for town.

Katniss' POV

As i'm walking to the Victor's Village I decided that I will stop by Haymitch's. I walk up to his house and walk in.

"Haymitch!" I call.

"in the living room. Katniss you have to see this!" I walk up the stairs and into the living room. "sit and watch." I take a seat on the couch and turn my attention to the TV.

"Last time we had said that Peeta Mellark was seen getting on a train and heading for District 8. When he got off the train he met up with a girl that claims to be his friend. We caught up with Peeta later tonight and this is what he had to say."

Peeta was walking, when a reporter came up to him.

"Peeta could you just answer on question." the reporter asked.

"fine just one." Peeta said.

"what's up with you and your girlfriend Katniss Everdeen?" the reporter asked.

"oh, she is NOT my girlfriend anymore." Peeta said and walked away.

"there you have it the star-crossed lover Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark are no more." 

Haymitch shuts off the TV and I began to cry. Peeta if only you knew the truth. Peeta I love you.
