Stay with me? Forever or Never?(hunger games fourth book)

Chapter 23

I'm lost in the blue till I feel someone tap my shoulder.

"Miss. Everdeen, please move out of the way." The doctor says.

"But, look!" I exclaim and point towards Peeta's face. They look down and see he's awake.

"oh, Mr. Mellark. How do you feel?" The doctors asks.

"fine." Peeta answers. "when can I leave?" he adds.

"we will do some tests and see how you are doing, then we can see when you should be discharged." The doctor tells my Mum and the nurse to go get somethings. When they come back the doctor does some tests. "ok, I'll be back later with the results." Doctor says and leaves with the nurse following.

"Mrs. Everdeen you're needed in room 216. Mrs. Everdeen you're needed in room 216." I hear come through the speaker in the corner of the room.

"Prim why don't you come with me in case I need your help." Mum suggests.

"sure." Prim says and hops out of the chair she was sitting in. I watch mum and Prim walk out and look back to Peeta. He tries to sit up but it doesn't work out right. I notice a remote. I go over and grab the remote hanging off the bed. It has a few buttons on it but I don't know what they all do. I decide to go with the one pointing down. I can hear a noise but I don't look to see what it is.

"ummm, Katniss?" I turn to Annie and see she is pointing to the bed. I look and see that the bed is now straight flat out.

"now I know what that button does." I say. I also find out what the button pointing right does too. Peeta almost fell off the bed when I tried that one but it was funny to watch. Finnick, Annie and me were all laughing and when I tried the one pointing left Finn woke up and joined in on our laughing. Peeta was even slightly laughing.

"Katniss maybe try a button that's pointing up." Peeta suggests as he holds onto the side of the bed because the bed is almost straight up sideways. I pretend to look at the remote.

"There isn't a up button. Sorry you're stuck like that." I say. Peeta rolls his eyes. "Oh wait here it is my finger was blocking it." I push the button and Peeta's bed goes up but it's still sideways. I push all the buttons till I get it back to the way it was at the beginning. I push the up button one last time then put the remote down before I screw anything else up. "Better?" I ask.

"Yes because now I'm not sideways almost falling on the floor." Peeta looks over and notices Annie, Finnick and Finn. "How are you alive Finnick?!?! Or am I just seeing things?" I have a feeling this might not be good.

"No your not seeing things, I am alive." Finnick says. "And how you ask? The mutts weren't actually eating me and the ground opened up and I fell into this room. I didn't know where I was but, 2 days later I got out by crawling out a window. Turns out I was in District 7." Peeta clenches his teeth. His hands ball up into fists and he is shaking slightly. He hasen't done this in a long time but I guess this cracked him. Annie seems to notice this.

"Peeta, are you ok?" She asks. He turns to look at her.

"No. That mutt did this to me!" He shouts pointing his fist at me.

"No Peeta, she saved you." Annie says. Peeta starts to fidget and he starts to get up. I push the red circle on the bed. In seconds three nurses come in.

"What's going on in here?" A female nurse asks. Peeta turns to face her and I get a clear look at his eyes. There're not completely black but they are really close to it. Peeta walks over to me and kicks me in the shin.

"you mutt! you did this to me!" He punches me in the face.  I hold my left cheek where it hurts the most while a nurse calls for doctors. In seconds two doctors come in and restrain Peeta back on the bed. Peeta screams and yells at them. 

"all of you please leave." the nurse says. We all walk out of the room with the female nurse following us. She stops us once we are all out. "hello, I'm nurse Angela Martin." She says and shakes our hands.

"how long before we can go back in there?" I ask.

"It may be a little while, but I also think it would be best if you stayed out of there the longest considering he was most after you." she says to me. "but we will let you know when." she adds. I nod. "I'll let you to do whatever now." She walks off. 

"SHE A MUTT!! A FILTHY MUTT!! SHE NEEDS TO DIE! SHE'S A MONSTER!! LOOK AT WHAT SHE DID TO ME!! CAN YOU HEAR ME MUTT! I HATE YOU!! I NEVER LOVED YOU!!! I REGRET LETTING YOU LIVE!!! IT WAS THE BIGGEST MISTAKE OF MY LIFE! I SHOULD OF KILLED YOU WHEN IT WAS A RULE!!" I hear Peeta shout. Tears start falling down my face. Annie hugs me.

"Katniss it's going to be fine. he doesn't know what he's saying." she says.  

"I know but it still hurts." I whisper. After a few minutes I wipe the tears from my eyes. "I think I'm going to go now." 

  "where are you staying?" Finnick asks.  

" with my mum and Prim." I answer and he nods.  

"we should go too." he says. Annie grabs a hold of his hand and Finn's hand. We walk out together but go different ways. The walk home is peaceful and quiet. When I open the door and get inside the house I suddenly feel tired. I walk into the living room and grab the blanket off the chair and lay down on the couch. I pull the blanket up to my chin and curl up into a ball. My eyes close and I drift off to sleep. 

I wake up later to someone shaking my shoulder. I open my eyes and see Prim sitting in front of me. She looks at me sadly with a frown on her face.

"what is it?" I ask sitting up. She sighs.

"I have some bad news."
