Chapter 19

The chair hits Gale right in the face and he falls to the ground. I turn around and see that i'm in the arms of Peeta. That means Rea must have been the one that threw the chair. I look over at Rea and see the hate in her eyes as she looks down at Gale. I look into Peeta's eyes now and see mixed emotions. Peeta seems to notice my gaze because he turns to look at me. I catch something in his eyes that makes my mood brighten. I saw love. I don't know how long we were staring into each others eyes for but I don't care. I forgot about the situation we were in until Peeta shoves me to the floor. I'm a bit hurt by that but when I look back up I don't see Peeta. I look over to the right and see Peeta throw a punch at Gale and hit him right in the nose.

"Katniss are you ok!?!?" I look at my left now and see Rea on her knees beside me. I rub the back of my head where I felt a little pain.

"yeah, I'm ok." I reply. Rea helps me up and I look at Peeta and Gale again. Gale has Peeta in a headlock and Peeta elbows Gale in the ribs and gets out of the headlock. "we should help them." I whisper and look at Rea.

"I know we should." she whispers back. Immediately after she says that she runs up and jumps on Gale's back. Gale backs up and smashes her into  the wall, when he walks forward Rea falls to the ground. I rush over to her and help her up after she says that shes fine. Peeta punches Gale and Gale punches Peeta back in the head. Peeta's face goes white and his head starts to bleed. Gale punches Peeta again in the same spot and Peeta bleeds more. Rea then punches Gale in the back of the head and I walk over to Peeta.

"sit down." I say. He obeys and sits down on the floor. I turn his head to the side to check out the mark on the side of his head. I notice him wince a little as I do this. I look away from the gash in his head and see that he has a cut under his chin. It's not that deep but it is bleeding. I hear a cracking noise and look behind me just to see Rea holding her nose. I'm guessing that Gale just broke her nose. It doesn't stop her though as she continues to fight Gale. I turn my attention back to Peeta.

"Katniss I'm fine." Peeta says softly. 

"no your not." I say brushing my finger over the cut on his head. He winces.

"yes I am. they are just cuts."he whispers. I shake my head and help him up anyways considering it's not worth arguing right now. 

"arrgg!" I hear Rea cry out. I see that she has a cut going down her arm and Gale is holding a bloody knife. I lunge at Gale and he cut my cheek. Peeta grabs the rope that was used to tie him up and sneaks up behind Gale. I push Rea back behind me as Peeta wraps the rope around Gales throat. He throws his arm back hitting Peeta's side with the knife.

"Gale you've gone too far this time." I say.

"Katniss all this could have been avoided if you would have just said yes to being my girlfriend." Gale smiles. His smile just makes me want to throw up. It's not warm and welcoming like Peeta's. He's is cold and dead hearted.

"I would never be your girlfriend." I snare.

"well I already killed that Delly character and now all I have to do is kill bread boy here." Gale taunts.

"I don't think that will be happening." I hear a voice I know say. I turn around and see Haymitch standing in the door way. He takes a few steps forward and stands beside me. "I could be nice to you Gale but I don't want to." Haymitch pulls out a gun from his pocket. "Katniss would you like to do the honor?" He asks me. I smile and nod. He hands me the gun and I turn to Gale.

"Gale you were my best friend. someone I could say anything to, someone I could trust and someone I cared about, but I guess that meant nothing to you because lately you have just been a pain in my ass." I lift up the gun and point it directly at his heart.

"Captnip please." Gale begs. "I'm so sorry."

"sorry doesn't cut it anymore." I pull the trigger. I watch as the bullet flies across the room and watch as it rips into Gale. Peeta lets go of the rope and Gale falls to the ground. I look at Peeta and see the blood spilling out from his cuts. Peeta falls to the ground and we all rush to him. "we need to get him to my mom now." Haymitch picks up Peeta and we rush to the train station.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~In District 4~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"it seems that the cut on the head was worse then it looks." my mom says.

"how much worse?" I ask.

"well it looks like Peeta is in a coma." I frown.

"I'll be back in a bit." she says and leaves. I look at Peeta and brush his hair off his forehead.

"I'm sorry." I whisper. "I love you." I don't know if I was seeing straight or not but I swear I saw him smile.

i would have updated earlier but i was watching home alone and home alone 2. i'm going over to a friends house this weekend so i will update sometime next week. byeee:) COMMENT AND VOTE:)
