Chapter 13

We arrive at Delly's house in a matter of minutes. Haymitch knocks on the door but there's no answer. He  tries 2 more times but still no answer.

"why don't we just walk in." I suggest. I turn the door nob and push the door open. "hello?" I call out. There's no answer.

"Let's go look around." Haymitch says while walking to the left. I guess that means I have the right side of the house. I walk into the living room and see that everything looks like it hasn't been touched ever. I check behind the chairs and the couch just to make sure no one is hiding. Silly I know, but who knows someone could have been hiding. After making sure no one is hiding I go into the kitchen. There is a plate and a tea cup left on the table but other than that it looks like it hasn't been touched either. I walk around till I notice something on the counter. I walk to it and see that it's a note. I pick it up and open it, it says,

Dear Katniss,

If you ever want to see Delly and Peeta again I suggest you come to District 2 and find me. But, it's not that simple. If you want to see them again then you have to date me and break up with Peeta or else they're both dead.

Giaelse, what kind of name is that? What do they mean by look at my name carefully? I look at the name for five minutes but snap out of it when I hear footsteps coming towards me. I look over my shoulder and see Haymitch making his way over to me.

" what you got there?" He asks. I turn around and hand him the note. He looks at it for a few minutes before looking back up at me. "Giaelse. What kind of name is that! I mean if I had a kid i wouldn't name them Gaielse." I open my mouth to speak but Haymitch starts speaking again," and what the fuck does it mean by 'look carefully at my name'."

" I don't know but let's figure it out, so I can get Peeta back. Ok?" I say.

" you know your not the only one who wants Peeta back." He snaps back. Wait a minute.

" so you want Peeta back too?" I ask. He mumbles something that I can't hear. " I'm sorry what was that?" He mumbles something again but I only catch the last word which was 'okay'. 

" one more time."

" he's grown on me! Okay!" He yells. I laugh. " what! You two are the only ones left in my life that I care about."

"Awwww that's so cute!" I laugh.

" not funny. Anyway let's get back to the note and the name Gaielse." He says changing the subject. After I finish laughing I answer,

"Okay, okay, so what do you think is up with the name?" I ask. He looks back down at the note for another minute or two before looking back up.

" I have no clue, sorry sweetheart." He replies. I extend my hand forward and Haymitch hands me the note. I walk back into the living room and sit down on the couch. Haymitch then plops down beside me. I place the note on the coffee table in front of us. I don't know how long we are there staring at the note but I soon start to yawn and before I know it I'm curled up in a ball falling asleep.

Katniss' dream~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I'm running. Running toward something. No, someone. But I can't make out who it is. As I approach them I see it's...Peeta! I run into him and wrap my arms around his neck and I feel his arms go around my waist. I kiss him full on the lips and he kisses me back. The kiss is perfect I don't want it to end but too quickly Peeta pulls away. He reaches into his back pocket and pulls out a piece of paper.

" what's that?" I ask. He takes both of my hands in one of his and uses his other hand to place the piece of paper in both of my hands. He closes my hands together and smiles at me.

" this is your answer." He replies.

" what do you mean my answer?" I ask.

" open it" he instructs. I do as he told me to and unfold it. In Peeta's writing is,

The name is Gale. Go to District 2.

" what does that mean?" I ask.

" I have to go now Katniss. You will know what to do, you are very smart. I love you. Never forget that." He kisses me on the forehead, turns around and starts walking away.

" wait!" I grab his arm and he turns around. I didn't know I was crying till I felt tears sliding down my cheeks. " please don't leave me again." He puts his hand on my cheek and uses his thumb to wipe my tears.

" I'll see you soon." He says, turns around and walks away again.

"KATNISS!"

I open my eyes to see Haymitch standing at the side of the couch. " the piece of paper!" I shout.

" what?" Haymitch asks. I ignore him.

" I need something to write with!" Haymitch goes a bit faster than a walk but not enough to call it a speed walk and comes back in seconds with a pen. He hands me the pen and On the blank spot on the note I write G I A E L S E and I circle the G, A , L and the last E and I also circle District 2. With the four letters I spell out the name GALE. " do you understand?" I ask. Haymitch shakes his head and I sigh. " Gale is the one who wrote this note, Gale is the one who wants me to break up with Peeta and go out with him instead, Gale the one who has Delly and the love of my life Peeta. One wrong move and Gale kills them both." I explain.

"Oh"

"Yeah oh, now what are we going to do?"

" were going to District 2 to get them back." He says.

" but what i.." Haymitch cuts me off.

" they are not going to get killed. Now go get cleaned up so we can get going already." He says.

" what right now but it's not my house."

" I don't care! Just go take a shower, get dressed and then we can leave!" He barks at me. I sigh and stand up.

" where's the bathroom?" I ask.

" second door on you left." He answers. I slowly make my way down the hallway. At least I know where Peeta is but one wrong more and he's gone.
