Chapter 12

As i said yesterday i am updating today!! twice!!  anyway here's chapter 12!

Katniss' POV

I wake up to sunlight hitting my face. Wait. I didn't wake up in the middle of the night screaming from any nightmares. That's weird, but maybe it's because of the hope that I could get Peeta back kept them away. What ever it is I'm grateful for it. I sit up and stretch my arms out. When my right hand hits the pillow beside me, I feel something. I look over and see a folded piece of paper. I pick it up, unfold it and begin reading.

Dear Katniss,

I know that I said that I was  going to be with you to get Peeta back, but I just feel like I'm slowing you and Haymitch down. So I'm leaving. Don't worry you don't have to watch me leave because I'm already gone. I'm going back to District 4 to help out mom with anything she needs. Tell me when you get back to District 12 and I will come and visit you when I can. Again I'm so sorry that I left but it was for the best. Good luck Katniss.

What? She thinks that she was slowing us down. She wasn't. I wanted her to be here with me through the whole thing. I hear footsteps and then there's a knock on the door.

"Katniss get up!" Haymitch shouts from the other side of the door. I sigh and get out of bed. Haymitch keeps banging on the door so I shout,

 "I'll be out in a minute!" I grab my bag from under the bed and pick out some black pants and a white shirt. I get dressed and walk over to the mirror above the nightstand. I braid my hair on the side and walk out the door. As I walk to the diner car I get a lot of glares from people. This one little girl says,

"mommy mommy look! it's the witch!" Her mother just glares and says,

"how could you do that to Peeta." They walk away and no one else talks they just keep glaring. If I'm treated like this I wonder how Peeta is being treated? He's probably got everyone on his side and they all feel bad for him. I finally make it into the diner car and there's not that many people in here just 6 maybe 8. I see Haymitch sitting in the back, I walk over to him and pull out a chair across from him. He looks up once I take a seat. 

"I guess everyone likes Peeta the best." I say.

"why would you say that sweetheart?" he asks. Is he blind!?!?!

"on my way down here everyone and I mean everyone glared at me! also a little girl that looked about 4 years old call me a witch!!" Haymitch chuckles. "whats so funny?"

"I can't believe a 4 year old girl called you a witch." he answers. I sigh. 

"so what time to we arrive in District 8?" I ask changing the subject. Haymitch looks at the clock on the wall across the room then back to me.

"well it's 8:34am right now and we arrive at 12:35pm so about 4 hours and 1 minute." he says.

"ugh! what am I suppose to do for 4 hours and 1 minute!" I complain. Haymitch looks at the clock and again.

"sweetheart now it's only 4 hours."

"not helping." Haymitch chuckles and stands up. "where are you going?"

" I'm just going to get a newspaper I'll be back in 3 minutes." He walks away and I'm left alone. I don't know what to do so I just start playing with my fingers.

"can I get you anything?" someone asks. I look up and see a lady that must be a waitress.

"um no thank you." I say. She nods and walks away. At least she didn't glare. I hear a chair legs scraping across the floor and look up. There is a man sitting where Haymitch was sitting just a minute ago. "can I help you?" I question.

" could you answer a few questions?" he asks.

"that depends what they are." He takes out a notebook and flips through a few pages before stopping.

"well first question is why did you cheat on Peeta? was he not good enough for you?" he asks. That's the kind of questions I didn't want.

"I'm not going to answer that."

"why not?"

"because those are the kind of questions that I didn't want!" I shout. He looks startled and puts his notebook back in his pocket. He just continues to sit there. "anything else you wanted?" I ask. I really want him to leave but if I just say 'get the hell out of here' that would be rude and people  might hate me more.

"yes there is." 

"what?" He is really getting on my nerves now.

"would you like to go out sometime?" That's it!

"NO! I wouldn't because I'm trying to get the one and ONLY love of my life back! his name is Peeta Mellark. So why don't you get the hell out of here!" I scream.

"but what if Peeta doesn't take you back, then will you go out with me?" This dude has a lot of nerve.

"I would rather be alone then be with you! GET THE HELL AWAY FROM ME!!" I scream in his face.

"but.." I punch him in the face and drag him out of the room. I kick him in the crotch before walking back to my seat. I see Haymitch hasn't come back yet and it'c been like 7 minutes! He said he would be back in 3 minutes! That liar. I sit back down and start to play with my fingers again. Haymitch comes in a few seconds later with a newspaper in his hand.

"where have you been you said 3 minutes it's been 7." I say.

"calm down sweetheart. I was just watching you beat the crap out of that one guy." he chuckles and sits back down. We talk for awhile and look through the newspaper till the train driver person announces,

"attention passengers we will be arriving at District 8 in 5 minutes." Only 5 more minutes till I get to see Peeta.

"we better get our things packed." Haymitchs says while standing up. I nod and stand up and walk towards the bedroom I was using. Just like on my way to the diner car people glare at me as I walk by. I ignore them and keep on walking. I open the bedroom door and gather my things up and walk to the closest door to get off the train. I see Haymitch is already there and I go stand with him. "you ready?" he asks. I nod my head and smile. The train comes to a stop and the door opens. We step outside and Haymitch leads the way to Delly's house. I don't know how he knows the way to her house but I don't ask. Here I come Peeta.

ok so next chapter might be up around 10:30 cause i'm going to watch the movie Frozen. the next chapter is going to be more exciting as this one wasn't really that exciting but oh well every book needs chapters that are not exciting. anyways vote and comment:) byee
