The moon was full, and the stars were bright on the warm summer night. The wind held whispers, full of mysteries that only few had the power to read.
And on this night, a women walked up a mountain path. Her icy blue eyes were wide, watching everything, getting more scared as she walked down the path. She was a beautiful yellow fox with sky blue hair. This women was no other then Sunny the Fox. She kept walking up the mountain, regretting every step, but she kept moving on.
Then, she had finally reached her destination. The path wided out, as Sunny walked out onto the moonlit cliff. On one side, she could see the silver looking valley, and to her other side, she saw the wide mouth of a cave. It looked like nothing was in the cave, but there was a shimmer of light as a lantern appeared, a person wearing a cloak holding it. Although Sunny couldn't see the person, she knew who it was.
Without saying a word, Sunny walked into the cave, and fallowed the cloaked person through the twist and turns of the tunnels.
After a while, Sunny could see holes in the roof, letting in starlight. And soon, they entered a cavern, that had a huge hole in the roof. The cave sparked silver as moonlight and starlight hit it. Several candles were lit up in various places, making golden light shine in several places. A few dark tunnels led to other places, but Sunny knew that they were going to stay in the starlit cavern.
In the center of this room was a table with two chairs. Sunny and the other person went and sat at the table, facing each other.
A few moments of silence passed before the person in the cloak removed the hood, and took off the cloak.
The she-fox underneath the cloak was as beautiful as a goddess. Her long, golden hair fell down her back, turning to dark blue at the tips. She was a dazzling silver color, and her icy blue eyes seemed to hold knowledge of the stars within them.
But her colors weren't the most amazing thing about her. No, it was her fur and hair, that looked like they had millions of stars twinkling on her. Every time she moved, even breathed, the stars on her fur moved and dazzled.
This was Stardust the Fox.
The star furred fox smiled at Sunny, before she broke the silence.
"Sunny, it has been far too long since we've last seen each other," Stardust smiled, her voice sounding as beautiful as she looked. It was too difficult to even describe how it sounded.
"Yes it has been long time, hasn't it?" Sunny smiled at her twin sister. "Why have you called me here anyway?"
Stardust's expression suddenly turned serious, and grim, "Sunny, last new moon, I read a message the stars left for me. Something terrible will happen soon and-"
"Oh Stardust, give it a rest," Sunny snapped, her voice just as serious as Stardust, "There is no such thing as signs in the stars. You need to stop thinking that there are and come back with me to live in the real world."
"But there is Sunny, you just have to believe me," Stardust pleaded, "How would you explain my sparkling fur, the special cave in the mountains, this valley that only we are allowed in- all of my books?!"
"This is going on long enough Stardust. Even if everything you keep talking about is real, it disappeared a long time ago. You need to get your head out of the clouds and come home with me. My wedding is nearly a month away, you could be the Maid of Honor. Matrix wouldn't mind..." Sunny trailed off.
Stardust sighed, "I can't come back Sunny, you know this. Just look at me! I glitter and glow! How the hell are you going to explain this when I come back. You just have to face the fact that I am staying here."
"Fine, you stay here. I'm going back to the real world," Sunny snapped as she stood up.
"Please don't go yet," Stardust begged, her expression turning to a sorry look. "At least listen to what I have to say! It could change your entire life if you don't hear what I have seen."
Sunny sighed, but sat back down reluctantly.
"Sunny," Stardust continued, "Last new moon I saw in the stars something terrible happening."
"What was it?" Sunny asked, anger turning ever so slowly into curiosity.
Stardust almost didn't want to come out and say it, but she did, "Sunny, you are going to have a child, but not with your fiancee."
"What do you mean? I wouldn't ever cheat on him!" Sunny yelled.
"I never said that," Stardust retorted. "You are going to have a child with darkness, a child who will end up being the most powerful of any of our ancestors. The daughter of Light and Dark will hold the power of the night in her hands, the Dark of night, and the Light of the moon."
"What is that supposed to mean?" Sunny asked.
Stardust shook her head, "I'm not even sure myself. But your daughter will destroy everything in her sight unless she is kept under control. Take this necklace I made," Stardust grabbed a black choker necklace from under the table and handed it to Sunny. The choker had little gold stars and a golden crescent moon on it, "as long as she wears this, she will be under control."
"Why would I do that? I don't even believe in looking into the stars and-"
"But I could teach you," Stardust says excitedly. "You can stay here, with me in the mountains, and never have to worry about the prophecy coming true."
Sunny looked at Stardust with a pained look in her eyes, "I can't do that. I love you to death, but I can't ever learn all the things about reading the stars and stuff. I'm going to get married soon. I'm going to have children and live my life, and a little prophecy won't stop me."
Sunny got up, ready to leave without the necklace, but Stardust jumped up and grabbed the necklace, and ran ahead of Sunny to stop her from leaving.
"At least if you don't believe the prophecy, and reading the stars and all of that, the least you could do is believe in me, and give this necklace to your first daughter. Think of it as my wedding and early baby shower gift," Stardust whispered.
Sunny sighed, "Alright, I'll do it. For you."
Stardust smiled as Sunny took the necklace, and put it in her pocket.
"Now, I really have to go," Sunny said, "I have things I need to do in the morning, and if I stay here all night I'll be too tired tomorrow."
Stardust dipped her head, "I understand."
And with that, Stardust led Sunny to the mouth of the cave.
"Bye Sunny," Stardust said as she hugged her sister goodbye, "Please come and visit again soon."
"I will, I promise," Sunny said as she waved goodbye. She walked down the path, unknowing that this was the last time that she would visit Stardust.
