Luna's POV
Tails hung up the phone and turn to me smiling, "I think that's about everyone."
I had explained to Tails that Stardust sent me to have a good time and create more good memories, and that's what he was now trying to do.
"It'll be nice to see everyone and just hang out," I say as I hear the doorbell.
"I GOT IT!" Wolfa yelled, running past us from the kitchen, Stella following close behind. She swung the door open without even looking to see who it was, and Tails ran over, looking worried that it wouldn't be someone we knew.
"Hey guys!" It was someone we knew. Sonic walked it with a big grin, "Did I beat everyone else here?"
"Well it wasn't a race but yeah you did," Tails smiled in relief as he walked over, and I slowly followed everyone to the door to greet him. He and Tails exchanged a high five before he turned to me.
"Hey Luna, long time no see!"
I smiled, "It's only been a week."
"Yeah, compared to when you left for a year-" Wolfa started before she noticed the look Tails and Sonic gave her. She dropped it pretty quickly.
My stomach almost did a flip. Yeah, it was only a week. Like the one week I had to hang out with everyone coming here today, before I left for what they thought was forever. For what I thought would be close to forever before I was able to find Stardust.
Sonic had begun to talk to the kids when Tails reached his hand over to mine and gave it a squeeze. He looked into my eyes and whispered, "Are you going to be ok?"
"Of course," I blink a few times, remembering not to get lost in those thoughts. "I just need to stop thinking so much on stuff."
"That shouldn't be hard when we're having a party!" Amy walked in, closely followed by Cream and Cheese.
"Hey Ames!" Sonic said, giving her a hug. It was nice to know that they were still going out. It seemed like no one really broke up since I was gone. That was when I realized Tails was still holding my hand. He gave it another squeeze before letting go.
"Hi Ms. Luna," Cream smiled, giving me a hug, which I gladly returned. "It's nice to see you back."
"Chao chao!"
I smiled at her, "It's nice to be back."
"Why don't we head downstairs so I can start beating you two on the video game-" Sonic started, but Wolfa and Stella were a step ahead and began to race to the rec room. We all shared a laugh, and Sonic races after them. Like the last time something like this happened, Sonic obviously beat them down the stairs cause you could hear the girls yelling angrily.
"If you guys want you can head down there too. I'll stay up here and let everyone in," Tails said.
I was about to say I'd stay upstairs, but Amy locked arms with me and began to drag me off down the hall. I gave him an apologetic smile and he just shrugged and laughed. I turned to Amy to hear that she was already beginning to talk her head off.
"- and we'll have to go to the mall again, and get your nails done! They would look so good with silver nail polish, and omigosh did I see you and Tails holding hands!?"
I smiled, "That all sounds great Amy! And yeah we were..."
I shouldn't have admitted to that.
"So you two are still going out?"
"Yes I think so-"
"That is so cute that your relationship lasted so long! But I guess you guys didn't have a long distance thing going when you were gone since he was just as happy to see you back like the rest of us. I was so worried that you two wouldn't be a thing anymore when you both were so cute together!"
